Switch is handheld, home console or hybrid?

All 331 of my moons in Super Mario Odyessy as of right now say that the Switch is a handheld.

I could see docking it in the future for Mario Kart with friends, but I see that as similar to using a portable on screen for the PS4, and playing it in the car. Only difference is the switch comes with everything you need to dock it out of the box.

At the end of the day, this is going to be the option for playing Nintendo games going forward. If you prefer to play your games in handheld mode awesome, if you like your games on the TV, you can do that too. Enjoy!

For me, Switch is a handheld that has the bonus of being played on a television. But its really a hybrid.

The best thing about this console is it fills a middle ground of sorts. It isn't nearly the most powerful console on the market, but its portable. It may not be the most portable handheld in terms of form factor or battery life, but it can also be played on a television and has tech that far surpasses what Nintendo used to go for in their portables. This console won't please the people that care only about having the most graphically advanced console or the most portable handheld device, but it caters to those that are in-between and can take compromises in either category.

Hybrid. The reason for that is simply because it can be used as both a home console and a portable console. It makes the system awesome imo.

It depends on the argument I am currently having. If it benefits more to be a handheld then I will call it a handheld. If I benefit more if I call it a console then I will call it a console.

What kind of question is that?...what is there to discuss?..it´s a fact the system is a hybrid.

It's a tablet that can be connected to a monitor like other tablets, there's nothing in the dock to be called an hybrid or home console... so it's a handheld.

I know... my English sucks.

I did not know that all the tablets on the market received a GPU boost when connected to the TV. That's a big difference, and that why is called hybrid.

Also, the dock has 3 adicional USB ports, that you can use the Pro-Controller wired, and plug a regular Ethernet cable.

...why is this still a discussion? you guys sure love entertaining people and their stupidity huh

"The Nintendo Switch Dock doesn't do much of Anything. Its a Cable Management Tool...and thats kind of it."
