Forums - Website Topics - Vgchartz article writers

Whenever I go on VGChartz, I always look to see what new articles there are. Every time a game review or gaming article comes out, I'm always left feeling satisfied.

The writers all do an outstanding job with the way they manage their work. The length is always close to perfect, the fluidity is consistent throughout the majority of the articles, and the objective nature of them makes me prefer it over a large amount of other reviewers.

They're honestly my favorite part of this website; we should see what others think of them. Personally, I believe introducing more writers/articles would be a step that would help VGChartz improve significantly.

I really do enjoy reading the site's reviews and articles. I don't frequent the front page often enough though since I mostly remain in the forums so I miss out sometimes.

Wow, this is so amazing to hear

Thank you for this positive feedback. It really means a lot to me, and I'm sure the entire team. Please also feel free to send negative feedback, as we're always trying to get better!

Like you, I've been really impressed with the team's work, whether it's Taneli's deep dives into Final Fantasy and now Metal Gear; Adam's Vita lists and interviews; comprehensive sales breakdowns from Will; or professionally-written reviews from Karl, Dan, Patrick, Spence, Chinh, and Brandon, among others.

I can tease a few upcoming things, too. Based on this thread, I've begun work on my first Retro Redux. It'll be a review of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. 2017 has been so packed with new games that I've had to put it on the back-burner, but it is definitely on the way.

Also, we've discussed the idea of a staff AMA, so stay tuned for something like that.

Finally, we have a big article coming before the end of the year. This is something many of the writers and admins have worked on, and I think it will be a great way to send out 2017

Ah, retro reviews? That's something that sounds interesting!! And something I could actually do.

One of my biggest problems with the site is some of these great articles get completely lost after a while. Like I'll try to reference back to one but then I'll realize it's completely gone, like you cant really search for old articles effectively here. As for the writers, they deserve all the respect they can get

Thanks for the nice words. It's always great to hear people enjoy the articles we write for the site. Personally I haven't been able to write quite as many new articles in recent months as I would have liked, but the Metal Gear retrospective and the Forgotten Gems articles are at least progressing at a decent pace, and I hope people here enjoy reading them as much as I do writing and researching them.

As for the future, I'm planning to get back to writing a bit more about video game music early next year with a big countdown, for which I'll probably be asking the community here for help.

I agree the articles on vgchartz are great. Especially I love to read the specials. For example the articles about every Final Fantasy game were outstanding.

There is only one thing that bothers me: A lot of the articles are published at the same time frame. Would it be possible to distribute them over the whole day?

Thanks. Really glad to hear that.

Thanks for the kind words. I have really enjoy writing for VGChartz and glad the community responds well. I wish I can produce more but things get busy. I am hoping to do more than just reviews in the future.

I know it's Captain Hindsight territory, but I usually bookmark them if I don't have time to read them.
