Forums - Gaming Discussion - My cat ate my headphones...

My cat ate my headphones.  Actually, she chewed the cord enough to downgrade my listening audio experience from stereo to mono.  I now need a replacement.  Any recommendations?

About six years back, I bought the Sennheiser HD203 DJ-Style Closed Lightweight Headphones for under $35 USD.  I only used them on occasions just so I wouldn't disturb anyone around me.  It doesn't happen often.  I don't do any online gaming so a mic isn't an issue.  So I don't feel the need to invest a lot of funds in a new set of headphone.  And I can go either wireless or wired as long as I'm more diligent in putting my headphones away after use. Also, I don't mind earbuds.  There are a lot (too many) options out there so I need some input.  And when it comes to gaming (and movies), audio trumps over visuals.  I'm stating this to illustrate how audio quality is important to me without breaking the bank.  Thanks.

Can't you cut open the cord and repair it?

Splicing... Fair enough.  But I have too much on my plate right now.

I never liked cats, all they do is eat and sleep, and chew headphones.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

My roommates kitten walked by with a black string attatched to a black glob of plastic hanging out of her mouth. I said 'What have you got there?' It was the remains of my earbuds, with the rest found under a chair in 4 pieces....still a little cutie though. Cant really splice 5 sections back together. A $7 lesson to not leave hanging wire type things over the back of a chair...

Well you could go for a Siamese, they seem to cause less trouble but you should have a female and have her operated so she does not go crazy with the need of having kittens.

Sphynx cats are a good choice too but they are a very rare breed and therefore very expensive. I would avoid Persian cats as they have long hair and I don't like shed long hair all over my place.

The Devon Rex seems like a nice race with big ears and stuff but I don't know how tame those are...

Hmm tough choice

igrado's get my vote. Love the mellow detailed and true to life sound. May take a little while to run in though.
