How about MK9 with many new tracks, some of them based on Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild?

Already? It's been 3 years since 8 and we probably won't get 9 for another 2 years. The comment I was referring too WAS you literally caring more about corporate interest. And this whole thing about Mario Kart 8 needing to go on and on and on because it's the best yet is just ridiculous. That could be said for any new best entry in a franchise. 9 could come out and people on the Switch 2 would say they don't want a 10, just 9 because it's the best entry in the series. What I was referring to here  is more that it would extend the game's life cycle. There's no real rush for Mario Kart 9 since was already such a leap above all the other Mario Karts and there is plenty of content there, especially if more DLC is planned.

I would have preferred different projects than Splatoon 2 or Arms on the Switch, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're valuable to the Switch library or that I can't begin to like them more as I play them more. The same rule applies with Mario Kart 9, you might not think it's a priority to get it on the Switch because you want different projects, but that doesn't mean it isn't a priority for the console or other users. I don't really see the development of Mario Kart 9 taking away greatly from the Switch library like you are implying. It's not one or the other - unique properties or non-unique properties. If Nintendo wants a Mario Kart 9 on Switch, they will find a way to make it, whether or not their hands are tied on current projects.

I agree, if Nintendo wants Mario Kart 9, there will be Mario Kart 9, much to my chagrin. But the team behind Mario Kart 8 is the same team that was behind ARMS. Even if ARMS isn't what you would have liked at the time, you agree that they are valuable to the Switch's library and it was a breath of fresh air. Would they have been able to come out with that if they went with MK9 instead? They most likely would have made ARMS anywhere but it would have taken longer to develop and would most likely still be in development instead of being out by now. That's how it would take away from the Switch's library. It would be playing it safe and sticking to the tried and true, instead of adding more variety, taking risks and chances on new IPs or old ones to add to their portfolio and appeal to more people. Let everyone have a turn is basically what I am saying. What would be more attractive? Two Mario Karts or a Mario Kart and a new F-Zero?

And you're absolutely right that it is just what I want and not every gamer ever in the world ever of all time ever in all of space and time. ever. Maybe I am too stuck in the past, an old man who is grumpy and should just accept that sooner or later I need to lay down money for a port. Hell, maybe I'm even the minority and most people just want 8 deluxe for the rest of the Switch's life. I guess from my perspective, it's frustrating that the Switch is the first Nintendo console where fans are really just throwing up their arms and saying that ports are good enough because obviously if a game is that good already, more can't be done for it, right? It is so unoriginal and it feels like it goes against what Nintendo's actual developers - and not just port houses - are doing. Innovating and revolutionizing pretty much every major franchise. But whatever, that's just my opinion on it.

The sarcasm is strong with this one. XD
I apologize if the delivery of my message came across as rude. That wasn't my intent. But, I stand by the content of my message. I like how Nintendo that's been taking a lot of risks lately and experimenting with stuff like Splatoon, ARMS, and Breath of the Wild. Of course, I love my Mario Kart, but I'm content with this one for now.

Mario Kart 9 with the Odyssey DLC, which they can also add on MK8DX.

I still feel like MK9 is completely unnecessary for several years. Just give us MK8D dlc, it's already about as perfect as MK can get. All it needs is new courses and characters until it finally is outdated enough to warrant MK9. Would be fine with MK9 not happening until next decade and the switch successor.

Mario Kart 9, of course. 2019 sounds right to me. Let's bring back Double Drivers as a mode, and add some new characters like E. Gadd, Pauline, etc.

Really I'm fine with either one. MK8 is already a solid game, so I could manage with it for a little while longer. Though, if they have MK9 in the works it's better if they just release future content on that instead.

I want this! Except, I've never liked 'Super Smash Kart'. I would prefer a name like "Super Speed Bros." This should play completely differently from Mario Kart, so I would still want a Mario Kart 9.

Mario Kart 9

Why is Cappy and Tiara the examples of characters to add to MK8D? The big star to come out of Odyssey is obviously Pauline.

I'd like the Broodals too. So I can play Madame Broode and bump others with her jiggly physics.

And bring back specials too, so I can use my Chain Chompikins to knock others out of the course.

Not really a fan of the Broodals myself, but I like that they introduce new characters instead of relying on older ones.
