Forums - Nintendo Discussion - L.A Noire Switch Version

This is my first time with the title as I never had an interest in the previous version. I can say that I am glad its a slow paced game because of the frame rate issues that pop up not too long into the game. Around the first real case involving Kaloo and a foot chase the game takes a major hit when you make it to the park and scenes with lots going on on screen seem to be kryptonite. The game is engaging tho and I've already sunken a few hours into it. I haven't experimented with the motion controls or anything yet and idk if the frame rate issues are a problem exclusive to this version or not. I'd still recommend the title to anybody looking for something more mature after finishing odyssey or for when they've put down Doom. Any questions feel free to ask since like most switch titles as of late reviews seem to be a bit hard to find.

Games are fun.

I never finished the Xbox 360 version so I knew I would be skipping this one. Sorry to hear about the technical issues though.

L.A Noire seems to be going completely under the radar, there was lot's of buzz online, on forums and game sites a few days ago when DOOM launched, and I expect the same will happen in a few days when Skyrim on Switch launches.

However the release date for L.A Noire seems to have come and then gone without much hype, buzz, discussion or anything at all which is a shame as it also hasn't charted as well on the Nintendo E shop charts. I think even the PS4 and Xbox One versions will perform poorly as well so atleast hopefully the Nintendo Switch version will be close enough in sales to them that Rockstar might continue to support the system.

Why didn't you finish out the game?

I always felt the 360 and PS3 versions performed okay-ish at best when they released. Dunno though.

If LA Noire flops everywhere, not just Switch, will T2 consider the Switch as a lost cause, or will they consider another try with a more popular game?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Eh, it's a 6 year old remaster, I hope they don't expect too much from it across all 3 platforms. One of the Switch's biggest, if not the biggest selling point, is its portability for such high fidelity games. I don't recall many people wanting to play LA Noire portably, but GTAV would be a different story. And according to some recent insider info from a youtuber, RGT 85, GTAV is running right now on Switch. I think they'll base further Switch support on that port if the rumor is true that is.

I might actually get this, but probably in 2018. It doesn't "peak" my interest...but the idea of playing it in bed is cool.

It got repetitive and I quit caring about the mystery.

Weird that you are having framerate issues, not saying you're lying or anything but I saw a video from SpawnWave last night and he had no problems with the framerate in docked or undocked but that was a short clip for the handheld portion though but it looks really steady nonetheless, maybe a minor stutter on your end?
