The people who made the Minions movies are now making a purely Mario movie. Still bad, but not that bad.

The Secret Life of Pets was horrible and lazy. Yet because of oversaturated marketing it made over $100 million its first weekend. Mario by the same company should do gangbusters.

I had forgotten he had passed. But honestly, as a kid who didn't even know much about Mario even in the early 90s, I didn't think about how closely the film matched with the lore, all I saw was a slightly weird adventure film with odd dinosaurs with small heads, it was fun. You ever watched Tron properly as an adult? It is not a great film, has odd pacing and is really confusing near the end but that doesn't mean our adult minds won't remember something better (as in the light cycle scene alone really).

That said he was also in Son Of The Mask, he has made some worse films.

IE is quite the good studio.Loved the first Despicable me for example, and the animation on their films is quite good.Im just worried about the general direction the film might take if they are in helm.So for our sakes, lets hope that Nintendo is the "general director" of the films(read it as they call the creative shots on what the film must be like) and IE simply do the grunt work.

From Illumination, one can expect high visual quality accompanied with extremely generic plot.
