Many games, such as Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and even Mario Kart Wii featured light blue as the most prominent color in their logos. Also, the only color that shows up on the box art of the console itself is light blue:
I am way too used to Nintendo being blue. However it makes sense for the Switch to be red since all the cases are red now. However I always thought Nintendo was blue due to branding and them following the Blue Ocean Strategy.
