Forums - Gaming Discussion - I cancelled my Battlefront 2 preorder.

Smart but why did you preorder in the first place?

Didn't know about the loot boxes.  Preordered to play the beta, and the beta wasn't bad so I kept the preorder.

I forgot there was early access beta for it aswell. i played the free one and turned the game off after 3 matches. had zero fun with it unlike with the first one.

Yea, its not great and I think reviewrs have easier access to the heros.

Hopefully the singleplayer experience is good, any news how long the singleplayer might be?

Its a common thing with EA. They really make you work hard to earn stuff without paying.

I have Best Buy Unlocked so it was only 48 plus a 10 gift card - and really only care about the single player - so I preordered. But there is so much appalling about how they are handling everything. Arent they basically charging 20 bucks extra so you can play 2 or 3 days early? So they have a game done, but they're holding it back a couple extra days so people buy the ultimate edition.

I just want to see a review for the single player. I've searched for the embargo date but can't find one. Can't the EA early access people play the whole thing already? I'd think we'd be seeing people posting thoughts on it. Or can they only play the first hour or something of the game?

Hmm, I don't mind playing a long time before unlocking characters (to an extent).
That's how I unlocked many characters in past games before paid DLC. The problem here is that you can pay to unlock them. Which I suspect is a contributing factor to just how long you have to play to unlock them.
That's the shady part. If you couldn't buy them for money, it would probably be a lot easier to unlock them.

I also enjoy unlocking and working to unlock things. But I think you can agree that say 40 hours avg time per hero unlock is a bit excessive? You should be able to unlock everything in 40 hours of gameplay.

I mean it depends on what you do during those 40 hours. If that's just going through the story mode once for example, I would be fine with that.
Of course I don't think the story mode is that long in a game like this, so I imagine those 40 hours have to do with a lot of grinding.

Well in regards to unlocking everything, I don't consider the time it takes to do story mode.

I'm saying that once you beat the game, whether its a FPS like this game, an RPG like Final Fantasy or a fighter like Smash Melee. All of the extra side quests/unlockables/extra bosses/ect/weapons/ect should be something one can finish in 40 hours of further gameplay after you beat it's main story. It's ridiculous to think that one can't unlock everything in a game in 40 hours.

I cancelled any intention of buying EA games in the near future.

Me and my buddies are getting it in December on sale. Can't wait.

If you couldn't wait, wouldn't that mean that you wouldn't wait until December to get it?
