Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Has Embraced DLC, But Must Resist The Worst Industry Norms

If Microtransactions are broadly accepted, then expect to see them in Mario Kart sooner or later. Nintendo follows any trends in their own way, but they always follow the consumer.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Amiibo is the worst possible DLC.

Starwars battlefront 2 is the worst possible DLC.

i did not. im not talking about the quality of the DLC, but the method of how its sold and what not. starwars battlefron 2 is just atrocious in its DLC and progression method.

This 100x ...

Sooner or later Nintendo will find themselves with microtransactions and then later loot boxes ... (the industry will try as much as possible to figure out an ideal compromise and Nintendo is no exception)

Fire Emblem Awakening combine both. The DLCs are additional maps sold individually, pretty expensive, with a really low quality (empty maps without any originality or scenario), and give you huge bonus for the rest of the game, like infinite XP or Gold, the most powerful abilities or objects, things like that. The definition of shameless money grabbing sh*tty DLC.

I am at the moment only interested in two games for the Switch:

Zelda BotW
Xenoblade 2

Both games have DLC that cost quite a bit so I am waiting to buy a Switch until one of the games get a CE for a reasonable price.

thats fucking shit lol. the thing is DLC can be really awesome when done right, like how RDR did it with undead nightmare, or The Witcher 3 with its expansions. im even ok with map packs as they just provide additional content that arent necessary.

Wait until we see more data, 'till you start giving out medals.
EA, Activision and Ubisoft can still best Battlefront 2 yet...
