# 44 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The best Mario Kart game ever made. That is all. 

#43: One of the couple games on my list that dropped like a ton weight, it's an iconic franchise with one of the... more controversial fanbases. Also one of the few games I can recall where people went crazy for the DLC, especially the first and final waves.

#42: Spin-off from a franchise that recently sprung back into relevancy, and now is in demand for a return as well, and I agree. Let's just say that Wright may not like this game cause of sharing similarities from a franchise he despises, but this game does everything that series in particular did, but better.

#41: One of the few notable games of 2017 that hasn't been nominated for anything for The Game Awards Show, and while it is far from the best adventure game, it does have one of the best epilogues in any game, complete with a beautiful song that uses complete gibberish in the vocals.

Well, as I played it the first time, it was already really old. Dunno, at least a decade. So nostalgia may not the thing.

On the other hand it is a game that is very hard to get into and my tastes are special. Still, people like these games, there is a full community around roguelikes (and not the modern kind where every game is a roguelike). So people like these games to this day and develop new games in the like.

So, no harm in trying it, if you're a player who might like this. But expect your first deaths to be early and cheap (like starving). Give it a few tries before giving up. Also I see, that today is a new moon (the game uses realtime to in-game events), so some effects like stronger werewolfes or so. For the first run, try typing '?' and then 'c' for a list of game commands (the game uses basically the full keyboard). The game is so hard, it doesn't really feel like it spoils the game if I look, what exactly a potion of sickness does (with which I just started). So good luck.
