Nope not kidding, if you publically announces 30M forecast while intending to only meet like 20M that is a way to manipulate the market and it's a crime.

You really think they are lying seriously? If they have said this, they are obviously trying to make 25-30M. If they only manage to make 15-20M despite of their efforts, its not a crime. As you said, this is not even official PR.

edit. Oh so Nintendo's forecast is 14M, not 10M, so that some misinformation there. Also, lets see.... why cant nintendo do more than 14M? I wonder why....MAYBE CAUSE BIGGER COMPANIES HAVE A BIGGER INFLUENCE AND ITS EASIER FOR THEM TO ACQUIRE PARTS? Dont know whats hard to understand.

If they intend to make 20M and announce 30M that is a lie. If they make plans for 30M and end up selling 20M then it's a honest mistake.

Nintendo initial forecast was 10M that they reviewed up to 14M.

You can think what you want but still none of what happened before and during release showed confidence of selling 30M in a year.

If a 10 Million forecast (7/10 of total Wii U sales, and more than what Xbone sells yearly) comes off as non-confident,  either you dont have much knowledge about how the industry works, or are here just to rustle feathers. I'm betting more on the latter. From here on out I'll be noting everytime you come in a nintendo thread just to downplay them.

Make notes if you want, Will you make notes for the props as well?

And will you also counter argument the ones thinking it make sense to produce 30M to sell 25M?

I have no issue with they aiming 30M even if I think it is unreachable... my sole issue is with people thinking it makes sense to produce 30M to ship 25M.

Do you think 30M is reachable for FY18?

Yeah, sure. Sorry, but I get worked up sometimes, and I didnt really mean to be an asshole.

Anyways, I agree that its gonna sell 15-20M and 30M is sort of wishful thinking.

What I was trying to point is that, given the Nintendo was before Switch launch (they were coming off their worst performing clonsole), 10M wasnt non-confident at all. Many People at that time were laughing at 10M and thought there was no chance of that happening, just shows that at that time it was a confident prediction.
