I bought South Park: The Fractured But Whole a few days ago and I think it's amazing. I didn't play The Stick of Truth cus it came out after PS4's launch and fuck playing on the PS3, but with a purchase of a new copy of The Fractured But Whole comes a free digital code for The Stick of Truth which is pretty damn awesome. So I'll likely be playing that once I beat this. As I started playing I immediately loved it cus it's pretty damn funny, and I haven't been watching South Park at all the last couple years, but I used to watch it all the time. Playing this game brings so much joy to me because it feels like I'm in control of a really long South Park episode. I also have played pretty fucking dark games recently now that I think about it. Outlast 2, Farpoint, Nier Automata, even Persona 5 which was delightful was somewhat dark as well. So I think this game is a good shake up in tone that I needed.

The game is turn based which is made fun of by the game itself which of course cracks me up. During combat the characters are saying funny ass shit as well. The fact thats its a full blown role playing game just makes it that much better because that guarantees that I will get a good amount of time out of it.

Also, did I mention it looks exactly like the TV show does? Seriously there's no difference, and while that may not be impressive due to everything looking like it was made out of cardboard, it's still quite the spectacle to be playing a game that looks exactly like its source material.

Not that the story is complex but Fractured picks right up where Stick left off.  It might be less jarring if you play Stick first then pick back up with Fractured.  I finished Stick (got it free when I pre-ordered Fractured) and have played an hour or so of Fractured. To me there really isn't a ton of difference between the two although from what I've played so far I think I liked the gameplay from Stick a little better.

yeah i was debating what I should play first but I decided it might be a little more fun to play the fractured before stick of truth. at least i own two south park rpgs now, good feeling

Stick of Truth is far superior. It had the benefit of being worked on before Ubisoft got its grubby mitts on it.

Fractured but Whole has little story in comparison and lots of padding. The fighting is improved but that's the only positive.

Well then the fact that I'm enjoying this as much as I am means I get to play an even better South Park game right after it. That's some good shit

I still have to finish it. I'm about 7h in and I can definitely say that it's worse than Stick of Truth. They crammed a lot of stuff in there that really didn't have to be there.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Stick of Truthia had better jokes and more funny stuff with characters but Fractured has much better gameplay. Especially combat is improved alot and that alone makes Fractured the better of the two imo. And of course I've laughed my ass off playing it plenty of times :)

Great games.

I thought this was gonna be another Charlie Sheen scandal.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

I'm around 8 hours in and I like it but is clearly inferior to Stick of Truth, that one was amazing, this one is fine. Still worth it though.

Don't forget the soundtrack.
