Gamestop will also be selling the Pro for $349 starting on Thanksgiving.

I think it could be an issue for X1X. But I'm not really convinced that these upgraded units will increase the user base. They seem more fit to early adopters that have consoles since launch and would be at risk of getting bored. So they double dip. Probably after the gen ends, the base models will be showing too much their age and the price cuts will make the pro versions seem more attractive.

For now, I believe the big fight is X1S vs PS4 Slim. I'm not sure if Switch fights for sales with them or if it is appealing to an entirely different demography. Since PS4 sales haven't fallen from a cliff and those millions of Switch consumers have to come from somewhere, I guess the second scenario is most likely. I also wonder if we don't have a lot of double owners, PS4/X1 gamers also getting a Switch.

Probably.that's exactly my case,i use it alongside my ps4. Switch is the ultimate portable system,so it appeal to both ps4 and xbone owners, because it's a completely different experience. It makes sense for them to buy it.

I thought Switch sold over 400K this month? According to JH it did way below that. I wouldn't call that dominating. It was in stock all month too.

Formerly ilovegirls69  :(

I wonder what the PS4/XB1 did.......could Sony be flat in Oct? If so man this really is their year wow.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

I think we have to keep in mind that there were only 4 weekends in October vs. 5 weekends in September.  Also someone else may know more than me on this but it seems like maybe Sep. historically does better than October for hardware overall (I don't have much data)?  I'm not trying to make excuses for Switch, but I think the 4 weekend vs 5 weekend is a reasonable explanation.

its in line with what ps4 or xbone do every october. people expected way more because because the console finally has great stock, and mario's release. which people hugely over estimated it's power to move consoles.

Who is that guy

Anyways, this should be updated to the OP and listed as rumor.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

hes an insider that has access to npd data, he's well known on neogaf, very reliable source, since all the numbers are basically rumors, and this is as good of a source your gonna get, might as well update the op.
