First thing that came to mind was Glitz Pit from PMTTYD.

The closest I can think of is the final level in Halo 3, that segment where you escape in the warthog, along with the Sergeant Johnson death would probably make me cry today out of nostalgia.

Also Gears of War 3 when Dom dies.

Aye, my first thought too. Mentioned it in another thread, but I completed the chapter in one sitting, finishing in the early hours of the morning. I was gripped and had to get to the bottom of what was going on plot wise. Can't recall many other games that have done that.

That part of the game is crazy, funny, bizar, truely Japanese and awesome. Really unique.

Tetris level 18 really stuck with me.

(Chapter 7 in Super Paper Mario was pretty sad).

Edit: Last Battle in Heavenly Sword as well. Most "epic" feeling I've had in a game.

The last chapter and epilogue of Gravity Rush 2 is the most recent one. There are a lot of poweful moments in Nier Automata as well but I can't remember the exact chapters.
