Forums - Gaming Discussion - Now Loading: Would You Rather Buy a Xbox One X or PS4 Pro?

Its a Playstation website, so is this all that surprising? It matters on the ecosystem you are already into, but the Xbox One X being more powerful definently should be a bigger factor when considering a mid-gen upgrade.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

You'd have to be deranged to choose x1x imo

Why? The X1X offers the best multi-plat experience in the console space (outside of subjective elements like controllers, ecosystem, etc).

Most gamers game on 1080P so I am not sure what advantage X has over the Pro or even standard PS4? Moreover PS4 exclusives games is a very big factor IMHO. X is only for hardcore xbox gamers. 500$ for mid gen console is crazy and even Pro for 400$ is not a good. May be next year with slim version of Pro and hopefully better support for 1080P users

Deflection, lol. You blatantly did it right here in the thread. Hope that helps.

I’ve explained all I care to. Keep it up though, it’s entertaining.

"I can't" is only 2 words lad, not 26. I'm glad I've provided some entertainment though, always happy to serve

Sorry to butt in, but if it's blatant, then shouldn't you be showing the context since it wouldn't be that hard to do so? One has done the due diligence of providing citations while the other hasn't bothered, making his arguments come off as mere assertions.

Totally unrelated, but hey Aura! It's been ages since we were in the mod chat at the same time. I think that's mostly been my fault though lol

So a website called "playstationlifestyle" all picked a Playstation console? Color me fuckin' surprised lol

His comment implied there was absolutely no reason to own an X1X, which is a position i disagree with. The value of the X1X's advantage is up for debate (the PS4, X1S, Pro, and X1X all have things going for them after all), but that it has one is undeniable. If i didn't game on PC i'd value the X1X's multi-plat performance quite a lot. I would likley be in a minority, as you say 1080p is still the standard right now and the PS4/X1S are a lot cheaper, but those that do want an X1X aren't deranged.

Doesn't matter what the standard display resolution is.
It is undeniable the benefits a 4k rendered image downscaled to 1080P brings.

You know those images that look like bullshots at 1080P? It's a similar process to how those are created... By downscaling them from a higher resolution.

Besides... We haven't obtained truly photo-realistic graphics even at 720P yet, let alone 1080P. There is lots of room to improve, regardless of display resolution.

The Xbox One X will appeal to some gamers. Others it won't... And that's okay.
I personally haven't played my Xbox One X for more than 10 minuets since purchasing it a few days ago, spent more time doing updates, there are just no games are enticing me to play it over my PC right meow.

You're absolutely right about SS, but the current prevalence of 1080p will reduce the number of people interested in the X1X and Pro. Super sampling can look great, especially when you're dealing with big jumps over the screen resolution, but it doesn't look as good as having the native resolution. Having a 4K TV makes both of them a lot more appealing.

Part of the blame sits with MS and Sony too though. Their marketing has quite heavily focused on 4K, when it should be highlighting the general advantages (e.g. just 'shit looks better, yo').

Someone find out which console WindowsCentral prefers.

Neither appeals to me at all.

If I had a gun to my head and had to choose though, I'd go with Xbox One X, since it'll have the superior versions of most multiplats and I prefer the Xbox controller.
