Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sonic Forces Switch Version

Just picked it up and at first impression I can say its not up to the level of Sonic Mania but its not a bad game by any means. Not a fan of the physics they use for classic sonic tho. At 40.00 its easy to recommend to sonic fans, just don't expect much in the way of difficulty however. Like most of the Wii sonic games enemies aren't exactly dangerous thanks to the lockon system.

Looks good visually and really pops on the handheld screen.

Games are fun.

I do agree it looks pretty good on Switch considering its power and the time frame Sega was given to launch day and date. I might get it once it drops to around 20 bucks, I don't think 40 is fair for 2 hours of playtime.

Sonic Mania is better than Odyssey by an incredibly large margin, kind of sad to see Forces looks mediocre

It's becoming hard to tell if everything you say is just satire.

Yeah after I wrote that comment I realized it could come off as satire but it's not. I love both games but I prefer Mania, I only compared it to Odyssey because that seems to be the standard for platformers on the Switch.

Still, I wish you'd stop the "I am negative towards you and your posts for no reason and I have a grudge against you" mentality, since anytime you interact with me you're negative. That comment was fairly mundane. Not exactly suspicious.

It's by far the best sonic,i give you that

Just finished the first boss fight with Infinite.

So far, I think it's decent.
Graphically speaking it looks passable, but nowhere near as visually stunning as Unleashed or Generations, even Colors looked more impressive despite being on the Wii.

Gameplay wise, it's the 3D Boost formula from Unleashed to Generations, so I'm familiar with how it works and it's the same as it was then (though Sonic carries a little too much momentum on his jump for my liking). So, it's good for the most part, but the level design is a hinderance.
But that's the deal with every Sonic game, earning speed through multiple playthroughs and getting familiar with the game, I can blaze through Mania with no effort at this point after having a lot of trouble in my first playthrough.
Classic Sonic plays like he did in Generations, so all is good in that camp.
The New Playable Avatar, now that was the aspect that intrigued me.
I will say, this definitely has potential and they put work into the outfits department. I'm not deep into the game so I can't give a full analysis. That flamethrower breaks the game a little bit, not gonna lie.
But so far, I'd say it looks like a decent first attempt.
It's definitely rough around the edges, but from what I've played thus far, it's been alright.

Game looks vastly inferior to Unleashed/Generations imo, so even at the $40 price I'll still be skipping it.

But I'll bet you bought Odyssey for $60 despite it also being beatable in 2 hours. :L
