Forums - Movies & TV - Marvel Studios Box Office Gross

Obviously Thor will have a couple month, expect it to be on par with Guardians 2 and Spider-Man this year. Interesting to note the value of the international box office over the past 10 years and how consistently these projects turn nice profits.  Be curious if Black Panther keeps the streak going and if Infinity War becomes the highest grossing entry to date next year.

The forum shrunk the image down, I ordered it left to right from first to most recent release, so starts with Iron Man.

It just keeps printing money, and I expect Infinity War to do better than the first Avengers, still I'd love to see an Iron Man 4 and it should be in the MCU's interest to make one given the growth between Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.
Plus I think the viewers kinda need to see more about Tony instead of brief appearances in all the other movies... (and let's be real Iron Man 2 and 3 were letdowns)

I wonder how long they can keep going like this. I know that I'm less and less interested in the super hero movies as time goes by. It's not because the movies are not entertaining but after a while it gets more of the same.

That Avengers jump, it's like something around then happened which bumbed them up from a small studio to one of the biggest film companies in the world. :P

Shame comic book sales are the lowest they've been in years.

Hmm, pie.

Seems like the crossover ones featuring multiple main characters are consistently the biggest sellers. Gotta say I'm not too keen on those ones though. Much prefer one the story is focused on a specific character.

It's the same business model as comic books. Crossover events sell a lot of issues, even though they don't always have the best stories. Still enjoyed Avengers 1 though.

Post Infinity war will be a major test as I expect Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America to be phased out due to contracts and aging actors.  Big question is if Ant-Man and Wasp, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel can carry the studio along.

I've also heard they may be getting Fantastic Four and X-Men back as Disney is acquiring parts of Fox.

The Captain America films saw crazy growth, although to be honest I still think Civil War should've been an Avengers film, I feel like he's only really had one film to himself, the first, since the second felt more like a S.H.I.E.L.D film, and the third, as I said, Avengers, lol.

Also didn't know Spider-Man did that well, last time I saw the numbers it was at like 600m or something... very impressive!

Major part of that was it release in parts of Asia such as China well after most other countries.

Spider-Man should be a big enough name to achieve that, but the rest are still largely untested, so who knows. Still, Marvel has managed to turn a lot of relatively unknown characters into massive successes, so I wouldn't bet against them.

Yeah this deal could be very interesting. I don't know if the Fantastic Four are salvagable after that last movie, maybe if they reintroduce them in someone else's movie.

If this goes through, the more interesting part will be Marvel not having to shun the X-Men any more. No more stupid bullshit like no X-Men in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.
