If you aren't a fan why are you hoping they stop making ww2 games? The fans of the series are happy of the change and the sales show that.

I don't care if they stop making them. I just don't want them to be succesful because that would encourage other devs to make ww2 games as well. Just like their success with Modern Warfare lead to everyone else creating modern shooters (I was glad about that one though!).

I agree with you there, I just find that right the market needed more ww1 and ww2 games, and it'll be the same thing for modern war games in a few years. I was just tired of the oversaturation of the futuristic shooters.

If WW2 is on par with BO3 taking into account digital then this game will sell at least 20m copies. That's crazy for a yearly franchise. I think MW2, BO, MW3, and BO2 did around 25m. Also Ghosts, AW and BO3 above 20 and infinity war was then one that went lower but WW2 seems to continue the sales upward again.

Using all the income for superior tech and crazy innovative gameplay probably wouldn't happen anytime soon unfortunately.

Infinite warfare was damaged goods, so it isn't that surprising. It not doing as well as black ops 3 is more telling though.

With the significant increase in digital sales the past few years it very well could have beaten BO3.

He probabily surpassed Black Ops III. I don't see CoD having huge digital sales like Destiny, which sold better digital, but we can still expect a good amount of digital. I think 40% looks likely, but that's just a guess.

That said, Black Ops III run was actually insane. legs of that game were HUGE. Launch was not that big, but he continued to sell so well months after the release, in the end Black Ops III ended up being on of the biggest games in the series.

I don't see WW II having the same success of Black Ops III, more like because Black Ops III was actually insane. I think it should be closer to Advanced Warfare, which still sold very great.

Week 2 sales are down just 43%, "quite likely" that WWII is the best selling CoD game this generation http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-11-13-uk-charts-call-of-duty-wwii-closing-in-on-black-ops-iii

WWII also had the best second week sales of any 2017 game, and better than all 2016 games https://ukie.org.uk/news/2017/11/%E2%80%98call-duty-wwii%E2%80%99-holds-fort-second-week-no1

This is kind of disappointing actually. I'm not a fan of COD, but I absolutely hate world war 2 games (sooo fucking boring!) so I'm really hoping the success of this doesn't encourage more of them.

Come ooooon, not even Medal of Honor on the PS1? That game was freaking awesome!!

Really happy about the latest COD... It actually the first one to feel like the good old COD 4 in term of gameplay (MP wise, not really into single player for COD games). I played it like crazy this weekend on my brand new and shinny Xbox One X (good old S&D HC mode) and it feels like home for a long time...

Nice job Sledgehammer.
