These ads are making it almost impossible to browse this site, huge ad on the top of the page and bottom leaving like an inch worth of browsing space. I understand Motorola is trying to see sell the Z flip but I dont want one

I didn't mean to reply to you but it's the only way I can make a post now. The scoll bar is gone, can't scroll with the mouse wheel or any other method

This is my view here now with no way to move the page

The only way to see more is to use the zoom function, at 50% I can reach reply :/

Ahh, it's back in this view, curious. Still missing in other views. It's there on initial load then disappears as soon as the Borat ad takes over the background. Same thing happens on Edge. This view doesn't have Borat (black) so the scroll bar gets to stay and the mouse wheel works as well.

The add changed (Call of Duty something now) and now the scroll bar stays. There's something wrong with Borat. It's a crapshoot, Borat comes behind, can't scroll. CoD pops up, can scroll. Btw, everything is very slow.

IDK whether it's already been suggested, but I have a suggestion for a forum function: if you view a single post coming there from the thread, you can see it again in the thread just going back, but if you arrive to a single post in another way, e.g. from notifications or from a search engine, the only way to see that post in its thread position is to browse the whole thread, only helped by the post date to narrow the search a little, and in very long threads it can be a long process even this way, a button that does the inverse function of the View Post one could be useful.

Thanks anyway for the good and huge job you and all the staff are doing in the site!

Can we please take away the ability of people without forum posts to spam on walls and DMs? Or maybe limit them in general? Nobody needs to write more wall posts than one per minute.

This problem with bots spamming people has been going on for months now. It has slowed down a bit but just now I got another one who spammed 200 posts on my wall in mere minutes.

edit: just came back to 400 new wall posts. Is there a way to delete wall posts when you ban those bots?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I've let CGI know to use spam delete on this spam bot so the spam can be mass deleted from your wall.

I do think that limited wall post to a certain post total or a time amount per post is not a terrible idea though.

Thank you.

Any reason why this "spam delete" is not just used on every spam bot? Seems useful. Just woke up to a new big wave.

Oh uhhhh... that's kind of my fault.

Not gonna get into the whole thing, but the spam delete is not labeled as well as it should be. And, because of that, I accidentally used it in some scenarios that I shouldn't have ^_^;;

After that, they decided to change the button to a head mod only feature to avoid similar mistakes happening in the future, which means for the time being, only CGI can use it and it may take longer for bots to be dealt with.

As Jwein mentioned, "spam delete" deletes everything that a user has done. Its an option during the banning process, but only head mods have it to avoid mistakes being made. So I perma the bots to avoid future spam and cgi when he came back online used the spam delete.

We try to keep an eye out for spam bots, but we don't catch everything. If one spams your wall send a mod a pm and we'll take care of it.

Will do, thank you.

There is an issue where everytime I click on a topic in my hot topic tab, instead of getting into the thread, it takes me to VGC’s front page. I have to go to the actual forums and then click the topics in order to get in them. It has been doing this since the site’s update.I am using Safari on iPhone.

Also this: —> ’  <— causes many typing issues.

I'm not sure I understand the issue. Are you talking about the Hot Topics box on the front page? And you're saying that all threads (doesn't matter which tab you're currently viewing - ie. Hot Topics, Latest Topics, etc.) - clicking the thread link takes you to the front page??

You mention Safari on an iPhone - are you viewing the "mobile" version of the website, or the full desktop on a mobile device?

I’m talking about the gamrconnect “Home” page.

The Forum Hot Topic tab thread’s links all lead me to VGC’s front page. I tried wiping all my browsing data including cookies. To no avail. I can click on the forum links under the thread titles (Gaming Discussion, Nintendo Discussion, Website topics, etc, and it will get me those respective parts of the forums, but clicking on the actual topic titles take me to VGC’s front page).

Curiously, if I click on the same threads via my “buddy” at the top, everything goes as expected.

An yeah, I am using the desktop version of the website.

[Edit:] I just switched to the mobile version and the same happens.

Ah - cool, so you're one of those seven users that takes advantage of that page...

I did fix a GREAT DEAL of broken stuff on that page, in particular - not even sure you were aware of some of the broken stuff. Regardless, at this point, everything "should" finally be working correctly - except, of course, for whatever on earth is going on here with you - because for me, it works perfectly.

If you right-click on a thread title and select "Copy Link" - and then past that link in this thread, what does it look like?
