But man is Xbox a bloody awful brand these days.

Not really, I agree PS4 has a much better library of games but when I have the one X I will also simply play that console more, the backwards compatability is the biggest feature this generation IMO I still have my discs from 17 years ago and I will use them.

People who just buy one platform ALWAYS miss out and how much you miss out really depends, but I do hate when people make the xbox look worse then it is.

Really, I felt the same some time ago.  BC seemed like such a great idea... until it was implemented.  Because after a few minutes of playing some gen 6 games these days, I don't often find myself engrossed.  It's very possibly just a me thing, but I think backward compatibility only really sounds good.  I think we associate the ability to play old games with the memories we had with those old games.  But when we actually play Project Gotham Racing, it's for a few minutes with a big smile, then we shut it down to go play more Forza 7.  Some of those games do hold up - I'm sure Halo is perfectly playable for many.  But the majority of those older titles?  I've got my doubts about people completing full playthroughs of Prince of Persia or Fable the way they did 15 years ago.

At the end of the day though, if your biggest feature(and loudest applause for) is old games, your system has a identiy crisis, among other things.

Don't know about anyone making the Xbox "look worse", pretty sure Donny did that before the thing even hit a store shelf.  No, I'd only point out it's flaws, the flaws that make it a deal breaker for many gamers.  From launch until this very moment in 2017, Xbox One has done close to literally everything worse than Playstation 4.  Specs, price, exclusives(this was so bad they had to bend reality at E3 to redefine what "exclusive" meant), press, trade events and brand building.  And yeah, they've gotten better, but so very much have it's competitors, especially Nintendo.  Don't take it personally but in my and obviously many people eyes, the Xbox One has no real place in the market right now.

Edit: About the X1X.  Okay so, who is this thing for?  Xbox loyalists?  The people who already own Xbox's?  Okay, you'll sell like a hundred.  But who else?  People on the fence about Xbox?  People on the fence are most likely concerned about the lack of compelling games, not "is it super powerful enough to power bump my old games."  So not them.  Holiday shoppers?  If you've got 500$ for a Christmas for your kids, you gonna get just a X1X, or a Switch with 3 games?  Right... so not them.  The last group, people with lots of cash.  Who can just buy a PC and play the same games and make them look and play way, way better and do a lot more cause it's a PC.

I don't understand the Xbox One X.  Someone please explain this things existence to me.

I think Sony and Nintendo get an artificial boost to their reviews I think microsoft gets an artificial descension in scores. I'm a nintendo and pc gamer so no dog in this fight. And i don't accessorize with tin foil

It's probably just not your thing. That's okay.

I would say it's for people who don't have an interest in PC (like me) no matter what PC has to offer but still want the best possible home console version of most games. Or gamers with 4K TVs that really want a the best hardware to showcase it.

I could give you a laundry list of things that even the original Xbox One does better than PS4 Pro. I'll send you a pm.

I belive this is nonsense, but to each their own.

What I will say is that right after mario oddyssie any other platformer would just be looked downed upon.

I expected maybe a little higher, but I’m still not surprised. I never once thought this game looked good, and wasn’t convinced otherwise by MS’s hyping. Cuphead, on the other hand...

I will forever hate this game for making me think that Microsoft was making a new Conker game.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO!

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?

The game is cheap so expecting more than a 7 would be over hyping. Ill check it out, however not holding my breath.

What would the retail price of the game dictate its quality?

Ratchet and clank launched at 40$

Senua's Sacrifice launched at 30$

Cuphead launched at 20$

To justify the expectations of a game based on how much it cost is just illogical.

It says a lot about a games quality. I won’t pay top dollar and expect shit or pay low dollar and expect something amazing.

Ratch n Clank is a Remaster (That’s Obvious) Remasters should never cost full price.

Never heard or care about Senua's Sacifice so I can’t relate.

Cup Head is worth exactly its price. I wouldn’t want to have paid more.

If a game is cheap than there is a good reason why its cheap.

If someone were to pay low dollar, they could expect something great thats in a smaller size to their $60 counterparts. It doesnt neccessarily mean that its gonna be worse. More than likely its cheaper cause of a smaller package overall.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Thats really all preference. I would not pay more than $20 to play destiny 2, but millions payd $60 and more. I would had payed $60 for ratchet and cank nd senuas sacrife, but others wont. Only diference here is that the vast majority agree that this game is not worth the asking price. Why? because the quality was lower than what was promised.

Thats the main take away here, all devs think they have gems in their hands and want top dollar for it, others and most lower devs know they dont and price things acordinly. If this game was $20 it would have been recived better, even reviews reflect that.
