Forums - Politics Discussion - Former DNC Chairperson Brazile States Clinton Campaign Ran the Party during Last Election

I thought we knew this. Like this was a big reason a lot of Sanders supporters voted for Trump out of protest, right? I thought we knew. How illegal is this? All who were responsible need to rot in jail.

It was widely accepted by Sanders supporters, but dismissed by Clinton supporters.  This change confirms by people inside it happened, it's not a discussion or debate anymore.

It is deeply corrupt and unethical, but the laundering tactics used mean they knew if it came to light they'd be able to walk away without criminal charges.  The single biggest threat to democracy is the corruptive influence of money, which has been legalized through Supreme Court decisions. At this point nothing short of amending the constitution could seem to hold off just how pervasive this issue is across every level of both major parties.

We are in complete agreement.

The issue is those in power don't want that and have shown they will resist change even to their detriment.  Is it more viable to try and fight for reform within for years or build a third party? In both cases I'm sure we'd be blamed if Feinstein (or similar) ran against Trump in 2020 and lost.

Building a third party would last more years than reform. More than 8 years at least. You would need to build a base through multiple campaign and elections. Very hard imo.

My thoughts as well, but at what point does reform feel like a dead end? If the current situation hasn't convinced them to change course how bad would things need to get to shake the rulers of the party to their core to concede power?  What chance does a reformer have against a Feinstein or Pelosi if they have all the political backing of the party?

I wouldve voted Sanders since I had decided I didnt like Hillary or Donald, too bad.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

We don't know for a fact whether or not Sanders would have won the election if he had ran against Trump. But one thing is for certain. What the Clinton campaign did was NOT for the people, by the people.

Going by this info, no matter what you did, you're all morons.

The ones that voted for the only chance to keep Trump out of the White House weren't.

A lot of us voted to keep Hilliary out of the White House.  And recent news as of such justifies it.

It's quite simple for the DNC, reform or die.

Two birds, one stone, Mueller time?

Honestly I believe in desolving both parties entirely. The country was originally founded on a party-less government, no? Besides with this shitty 2 party system we had 2 bad and corrupt people running -and of the major 3, only one of them belonged in the party they supposedly represented! Hillary is a Democrat. However, Bernie and Trump are neither Dem or Republicans. Sanders is arguably a socialist, he doesn't really hold the values of a Democrat. And Trump is definitely not a Republican. He passes Republican stuff because he knows thats the party he said he was, but the dude is not a Republican.

You were called sexist because you called out a woman for shady practices?

In 2016 I was called a sexist with "internalized misogyny" dozens of times online and in person due to this issue.  It became very difficult to discuss feminism or female politicians in this climate and was quite depressing. I could point to Warren or Gabbard, but it didn't matter to many if I had issues with Clinton.
