It could be but I'm not so sure about it. In any way, by that logic if every Bernie Supporter voted for Hillary we wouldn't be in this current mess. Which makes butthurt Bernie supporters reprehensible

So vote for the lesser evil even though it's still evil right? If you ask me, the Democratic Party needed this kick in the arse. Real progressive Democrats must build the party again. They need these 4 years. Clinton winning would have meant the status quo w more corporate Democrats. Bernie is already the most popular politician in the US, they can build on his platform.

No one needs this kind of kick in the arse. The DNC isn't the one that is hurting, everyone is. I mean, yes, what they did is shitty and what happened is shitty but the price that was paid for butthurt people who think the best way to support Bernie is to do the exact opposite of what Bernie wants overshadows everything.

I might be biased here because I can absolutely not stand stupid people in power. So I say that Trump will forever be the worst President the US will ever have and literally nothing would be worth not voting against him.

Do you think it is a winning strategy for the future to demean Sanders supporters?

More Clinton voters didn't vote for Obama in 2008 than Sanders voters didn't vote for Clinton in 2016. Obama still won in 2008, and won again in 2012.  He knew how to appeal to people and craft a winning message. Despite overwhelming financial advantage over Trump Clinton didn't, that falls on her and in 2020 we should expect a better candidate and a better campaign.

There is obviously no rational thought going on in Bernie supporters who didn't vote for Hillary so I doubt there is any point to try to appeal or reason with them.

I kinda just hope that Hillary just won't run the next time around.

I am a Brit, but let me say this: The American people will survive these 4 years (hopefully less), the political system is what needs to die a death before it can get better. Even though Trump is terrible and an absolute tosser, he is a changing force in the status quo. Because of him, two things are happening: The Republican party is becoming a clownshow and can never be taken seriously, and the Democratic Party is starting to show signs of reform.

She stated she won't.

I'm not sure what you're talking about.  They just reorganized the party to reinforce the older mentality.  If anything they seem determined to hold onto power as a hibitual loser than discuss any meaningful reform.

Man, I could say the same for you.

"There's no rational thought going on in Clinton supporters who compromised on their beliefs because of hive mind thinking so I doubt there is any point to try to appeal or reason with them."

You're so stubbornly insistent that there was no other way that, same as the others who think like you, nobody else could possibly be an alternative. I do feel sorry for you, though; the next election is going to be the same way and you'll still vote exactly the same.

You need a real progressive, with a real progressive message, to run and campaign on progressive points. The democrats need to reform and kick the corporate democrats out. Fake democrats like Diane Feinstein need to leave. The democrats need to focus on jobs and the economy. Clinton losing Michigan and surrounding states including the rust belt to Bernie in the primaries should have been a canary in the coalmine. "It's the economy, stupid".

Groups like Justice Democrats and other reform groups are growing. More people are stepping up and going against the corporates. That's why I said signs. People like Perez will not last when the base is not there.

So not surprised. I just saw her on tv again this week, on The Daily Show....I don't think I've ever seen anybody exude the worst, most stereotypical traits of a politician the way she does. Everything she says sounds so scripted, forced, and phoney. Glad this has come to light, and hope it keeps her from running for office ever again.

We are in complete agreement.

The issue is those in power don't want that and have shown they will resist change even to their detriment.  Is it more viable to try and fight for reform within for years or build a third party? In both cases I'm sure we'd be blamed if Feinstein (or similar) ran against Trump in 2020 and lost.

Building a third party would last more years than reform. More than 8 years at least. You would need to build a base through multiple campaign and elections. Very hard imo.
