Forums - Politics Discussion - Former DNC Chairperson Brazile States Clinton Campaign Ran the Party during Last Election

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/11/02/clinton-brazile-hacks-2016-215774

-------------------------

In essence, the Hillary Clinton campaign was the Democratic Party during the 2016 Primary.  They ran it to such a degree that calling it "corruption" seems to be lacking.  They set the rules and laundered money out of the party to back a candidate (Clinton) and diminish the competition (Sanders).

It was denied for the past year that Sanders supporters were paranoid or bitter. Now an avid Clinton supporter and the chairperson of the DNC states "Sanders people were right".

This is not surprising, just cementing the points made last year. Oddly, all the people who called me sexist in 2016 for pointing out how undemocratic this is have gone silent today.

Discussion questions:

How will this affect the Democratic party? Will there be reforms made? Will there be a schism? Will a third party actually be able to challenge? Will nothing change and we pretend this never happened because a new story comes out next week and distracts us?

Read that yesterday. Such a sad excuse by this lady.

Feels like a Hillary Clinton sequal coming out from her. YOu know the "what happened" book. Basically a giant book fo excuses.

This lady just screams of trying to paint herself as the innocent ignorant person trying to fix it. She also tries to say that no one else in the entire DNC, except for the couple that were already fired knew about this. They were all innocent.

Ha, such BS. Half of American citizens could tell that the DNC had rigged it for Hillary and were screaming it, yet the people there working were oblivious.

Such a dumb story though, she starts by putting on gospel music preparing to call Sanders and then ends with breaking down and crying after hanging up. GIve me a break.

FYI, this is the same lady who gave debate questions to Hilary, lied about doing it, and later confessed to doing it. Take anything she says with a grain of salt.

But to those who vote democrat. Good luck trusting this organization.

The sad thing about this is that it doesn't even matter. Sanders wouldn't have won against Trump either. I mean it sucks for him but was anything actually lost in this corruption scandal?

And yes still, even the most corrupt version of a Hillary Clinton is still better than a mentally disabled orangutan as president.

I don't know, many independents like me would've voted for Sanders over Johnson/Stein/Trump in the 2016 elections. Maybe he could've won over some of the rust belt "swing" states Hilary seemed to have ignored her entire campaign...

Do the people even hold the power to vote anymore?

I thought this was common knowledge. Hillary stacked the deck in her favor. She assumed she'd win last time. Obama put in the work while she was anointing herself and won the 2008 nomination. Sanders like Obama has put in the ground work to win however Hillary had already changed the game.

Yes we do. Just as much as us men hold the power to pick where we want to eat when a women says she doesn't care.

Every single Sanders supporter who did not vote for Hillary is a moron. Because they are the reason why the polar opposite of Sanders was elected.

Usually it's fine to vote for independants and 3rd parties and usually you shouldn't vote for a candidate you don't trust. It's also usually ok to not vote at all when no candidate appeals to you. But this election was different. It wasn't about democracy, it was about a literal matter of life and death. About voting the thing that will keep evil out of the white house. It didn't matter if it was Hillary, Sanders, the racist toe nail clippings of George W Bush or an angry swarm of bees. It was about voting for whatever has the most chance of keeping the current pile of waste out of the White House.

The ones that voted for the only chance to keep Trump out of the White House weren't.
