Got to the start of the final chapter last night.

Spoilers for both Xenoblade 1 and 2 below.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT OPENING CUTSCENE!!! This must have been what it felt like to be a drakengard fan and playing Nier when it first came out. I let out a loud holy fuck as soon as I saw Zanza at like 02:30 in the morning. We also got some context behind the destruction of Zanza's old universe but this raises even  more questions such as What were the humans in Zanza's original universe fighting?, Has this whole game been taking place in the universe Shulk created at the end of 1?, What the fuck is the architect and is it just me or does he sound like both Shulk and Zanza?,  Why is Malos's sword a Monado?, What was the point of X?, Does X actually take place in Zanza's old universe?, and most importantly why are Nopon's name Bana such greedy assholes? Gonna try to finish this game tonight cause I hope to see a least some of them answered.

Relax, or you are going to have a heart attack lol

Some of these question will be answered later in that chapter, so go play it!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

>Chose to farm for legendary core crystals instead of seeing which questions I had about the start of chapter 10 by get answered.

>Yet keep getting common blades in them and refuse to give up until I get at least 1 rare blade from a legendary core.

Basically me right now.

Just beat the game about an hour ago. Yeah I've been poking around Xeno 2 threads here risking spoilers...I guess I just like to live dangerously.

Overall thoughts...absolutely loved it. There were some parts of the gameplay that I wasn't a fan of, especially field skills and the Blade bonding RNG, but overall these were mere nitpicks in comparison to the high points of the game. A very likable cast of both heroes and villains, a story that kept me engaged for my entire 120 hour playthrough, a fun yet deep combat system, an interesting setting, Mythra, a fantastic OST, honestly this game hit nearly every right note with me.

I finished the final chapter in a 3 hour sitting, and my god was it an emotional rollercoaster. I loved seeing Zanza return, and fleshing out the crazy ending to Xenoblade 1. I liked that they re-used the same characters for that scene, as well as connecting the final fights for both games...which apparently seemed to be happening at the same time. The plot twists in Elysium were great, and the contrast between the whimsical Titan worlds and the high-tech modern areas was fantastic. I managed to beat the final boss in two attempts, but my heart was racing the whole time in fear of having to re-do the whole thing.

And yes...I'm really really really glad that Pyra and Mythra came back to life. I was a nervous wreck for most of the ending, and was about to go have my first cigarette in 6 years if my 120 hour playthrough ended on a tragic note. I was sure there was no hope when the ending credits was basically a love letter to Rex/Pyra/Mythra's relationship, and so seeing them reunited in the end left me feeling so relieved. I grinned ear to ear when I saw that new title screen.

I think I need to let it digest a bit before I fully score/rank the game, but so far I find myself a lot more attached to this title than the the previous two, or any RPG I've played in years. If it wasn't for Zelda, this would probably be my 2017 AOTY. I still have a lot of side content to finish, and have already purchased the expansion pass, so I imagine I'll be playing this for a while longer still. Might even do a New Game+ right away, depending on what I can carry over to a new playthrough.

Now to find a new avatar/signature set. *whistles and skips away*

New Game+ is scheduled to come with an update in mid-February. Details still unspecified.

I knew, though I wasn't clear in my post. I figure by the time I play through the remaining side quests and get the Titans to 5-star, New Game+ will be out, and I'll decide if I want to play it right away or down the line.

Hopefully I keep my rare blades and Blade affinities...that's one thing I'm not aiming to complete on this playthrough.

Yeah as a huge fan of the first game, the final chapter had me fanboying with glee. I just love the way they tied the two games together. In particular, having Adam Howden return as Klaus really solidified the connection in a relateable way.

Yeah! I got so excited at that reveal. I remember reading a low key spoiler that the two games were linked in some way, and I was wondering if the Architect would turn out to be Shulk somehow, and this game would be a distant sequel to the first game. In a way...that happened, but it made more sense than my dumb idea. Really cool that these characters exist in the remains of our world, not in a fantasy dimension.

I didn't bother looking it up, but I was wondering if the English voices were the same too. Glad he came back for this role. Made it that much more poignant.

I did I actually did it....

I got KOS-MOS with a rare core crystal and while still have several other rare blades to unlock!!!!!

So I just beat Xenoblade 2 and watching the credits right now and just need to make sure I got this all straight

So when Klaus caused that explosion it wiped out all life in his universe and split him into two halves.

One half became the architect, being the god of Alrest and created life in the ruins of his old world to atone for what he did

The other half became Zanza, being the god of Bionis and wanted to be worship like a god.

Both halves of Klaus dies when Zanza is killed by Shulk, confirming that Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade 2 both run in parallel with each other. Though this obvious with that audio clip of Shulk being played in that cutscene during the final boss.

Now The architect states there were 3 Aegi's. Pyra/Mythra, Malos. and a third one called Onttos that disappear. Does this mean that Alvis was that third Aegis?

All correct. And yes, Alvis was the third core of the station's central processor.

I was just on the Xenoblade subbreddit and some made a great point about this

The revelation that Alvis is actually a blade, puts a lot into perspective the fact that in Xenoblade 1 no one else could of wield the Mondao and it almost killed Dunban and cost him the use of one of his arms. As was soon in this game not everyone could become a driver.
