Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo Switch exceeds 2.6m sales in the US; Mario Odyssey exceeds 1.1m in the US

This makes me wonder about the potential sales of a 2D Mario game with similar production values.

That is freaking incredible!!!

Where's Colin Moriarty now?

This is the same person who deemed the PS4 Pro a failure. His perspective on sales tend to be very questionable.

He's also the same guy who predicted the Vita to outsell the 3DS. I also remember this gem:

Total wreckage.

Every true Nintendo fan has to make the annual pilgrimage to this article: http://www.ign.com/articles/2011/10/22/the-playstation-vita-is-set-to-succeed

Ps4 pro could be considered a failure, depending on how you look at it.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

This guy is a joke and that has been known for a while now.He either dont understand how sales work or thinks thats the total sales for the Switch(globally in the US) and is stupid.

He is the same guy who said that the Vita would trounce the 3DS.Funny thing is, if this was the Vita, he would probably said that these sales are incredible.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Very impressive numbers, wonder how the Switch will do during the Holiday and if there will be shortages again

Not even close to a failure. Assuming there are 2 million PS4s in shelves, then the PS4 has sold through 65.5 million by the end of September. Subract 53.4m from that, the PS4 has sold 12.1m by the end of September. Considering that the Pro makes up about 20% of total PS4 sales ever since it launched, the Pro sold about 2.42m units.

Compared to the XB1, VGC has it selling around 3.1m by the week of Sept 16. I think it has sold less than that amount based on EA and IHS's estimates, and US/WW ratios. I have it selling between 2.15m - 2.54m up to the end of September. For the sake of argument, let's pretend VGC has it right. The Pro has sold 78% of the XB1's YTD sales so far this year.

It seems like Switch again won NPD month.

Well done to Nintendo. Really want to get a Switch and Mario someday, looks like the successor to Galaxy I had hoped it would be.
