When I was in a bar in San Antonio, I was minding my own business and a group of people walked in. Everyone saw these people walk in, including me. Over the course of the night they were getting increasingly rowdy and drew attention to themselves so of course people kept looking over. I looked and met the eyes of a woman in the group who apparently wanted to single me out of everyone else at the bar. She started yelling things at me and came right up to me and wanted to start a fight. The bartender (a woman) told her that she needed to leave. Instead of backing off she put all her force on me. She then tried to swipe me face with her nails, I slipped her attack and then threw a jab and dropped her. The entire thing was on camera, had multiple witnesses and I was backed up by the bartender and the owner (also a woman) after the event happened.
To me it has nothing to do with gender. I've seen a few guys just take beatings in the face from girls saying, "I don't hit women! I don't hit women!" Everyone has a right to defend themselves.
