Actually, those preorders, if we use Amazon as an indication, came in months where roughly 70-75% fewer consoles are sold.

Yea but we have to keep in mind that when a new console is up for pre order it does well regardless of the month and the 1X was the most pre ordered Xbox console ever.

Yes, but that was in a month where console sales are relatively low; it's about a 3.5/4:1 ratio for console sales, for Nov./Dec. vs. other months. That falls in line with BF usually accounting for about 50% of console sales. The peak for X1 preorders was #3 in August, which would traditionally be about 1/6 the amount of consoles sold at #3 in November.

he has made multiple comments in that thread regarding X1 and PS4 having great weeks. If that is the case, when X preorders are considered, no way Xbox isn't above PS for the month if what he has seen is true of other stores

but the 1TB Slim is only slightly ahead of the X on the yearly chart, and that is Sony's big play of the month. When you add the big X1 Slim sales of the last few days on top of that, I'm pretty confident X1 will win out unless Sony had a shit-ton more stock than X1 in stores

Not sure if this is the best thread for it but I just came back from Best Buy and here's what I noticed in terms of stock.

Noticed a fair amount of people talking about 3 of the machines while I was there.

Isnt Sony selling all their stock a good thing for them? We dont really know how much stock they had but selling all of it must be good.

funny I've been thinking the exact same thing.

I think Sony should 1) replenish stock asap.
2) with any slim bundles just make them $249. That way the slim is still essentially $199.99. but I check my Walmart phone app and all the Walmarts within the area are either out of stock or in limited supply.

Anecdotal. Some stores are busier than others.

Also, there is till plenty of time for these to sell just in time for piling under the holiday tree.
