Here are software sales numbers for Wii U, taken from VGC.

Nintendo Top 5

1. Mario Kart 8 - 7.49m
2. New Super Mario Bros. U - 5.47m
3. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - 5.05m
4. Super Mario 3D World - 4.80m
5. Splatoon - 4.71m

AAA Third Party Top 5

1. FIFA 13 - 0.48m
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - 0.41m
3. Batman: Arkham City - 0.37m
4. Assassin's Creed 3 - 0.35m
5. Call of Duty: Ghosts - 0.35m

Does that look like third parties could be a threat to the pricing of Nintendo games?

This just gets better lol. So your arguement is that Nintendo titles, on a quality level, outperform the shitty versions of the PS4/XOne titles and sales reflect that? You don't say? Who would have thought?

Not sure how take a figure of speech as literal for me and then not apply it to your post as well. Nintendo games get the high MSRP longer and it has nothing to do with the quality of the game. It can be a critical and commericial flop and still remain at its $40/50/60 pricepoint for years. You can say that they're just outliers, but when you have a single good game in 2016, and they all retain high price points, you don't get to dismiss an entire year's worth of output.

I did apply the same standard to my post. I answered the thread's question and you made a loose interpretation. I also have to question your figure of speech when you could have used the basic comparative of better and worse half, because I suspect that you really mean it when you say garbage. When you now say that Nintendo had only a single good game in 2016, I see my suspicion justified and confirmed.

I did edit my post because I was only looking at Wii U games (and the 3DS output was much better in quantity and quality as I said), but even then it's not a good year.

And? Not every year needs to be best. More importantly, with those additional facts the argument of your previous post has been debunked.

You have debunked nothing lol. Bad games published by Nintendo are treated exactly the same in pricing. It's nothing to do with a level of quality, but instead a policy of the publisher. They choose to keep their prices high because they can. Comparing them to Apple in this space is pretty fair imo.

And why can they do it?

Because blind fanboys, obviously.

Best thread ever I've read in a while.

Further edit : nice when did they start showing that a post had been edited?   I like it.

What were your personal highlights in this thread?

Without a doubt watching Chaos melt down.  He got a good many insults out before the ban hammer fell.  At times I flet like chanting "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!" (I'll understand if you don't get the reference to the Jerry Springer show, it is a very trashy show).

The fact that Nintendo waits years to drop the msrp if ever.

I don’t think they can be compared to Apple. Apple keep their prices up because they can and always make money. Nintendo kept their prices up even when they were losing money or weren’t very profitable.

They don't rely on price cuts to drive their sales.
