Forums - Gaming Discussion - What makes the average Nintendo game hold its value so well compared to other console games

Besides games like GTAV, most Nintendo games that ive looked up (maybe 15-20) were all still $40 and up even years later........thats insane!

Simple. I was more wondering if we know or think that maybe they have better legs and whatnot.

That's usually what Nintendo Selects are for. I can get some of the best first party 3DS games on Amazon for only £13.99.

Other than that, they still tend sell well at close to full price even years after release so a permanent discount isn't always necessary a year or two after it's release.

They sell them that way because they can. I would want to stop them but i just cant .

It's a Nintendo thing: even if it's a garbage game, they won't drop the price. Not until they arbitrarily add it to Selects.

Damn, i didnt know that. My initial thought was that maybe their 3-10 year old games sell better then Sony's or MS's old games. It does seem like maybe the Mario games hold a lot of actual value throughout its lifetime though.

Never seen that. I had considered getting a Wii U but after i started looking at the game prices all i saw was old games costing way too much for my liking so i bailed. So thanks for that info bro, i may reconsider.

Nintendo not lowering the price plus.

Average number of PS4 games in a year vs Average number of Wii U games in a year. A january release isn't going to be worth as much on a console that had lots of games and some similar games in that same year.
