Forums - Sony Discussion - Sonys 2018 is lookng to be their greatest of this entire generation

I may have no interest in the big games next year(GoW, TLoU2, Spider-Man), but I sure am happy those games exist in a timeline where the biggest money makers are trying to kill off their ilk.

I think the 2010's will go down as a golden age of video games, with some of the GOAT releasing over the course of 3 generations(late 7th, full 8th and early 9th).

"Oh you mean the times where games were designed artificially difficult to eat your quarters? Or intentionally obtuse to draw out it's 2MB's length? The primitive 'learning to crawl' era of games?  Yeah, I wish I could go back then too."

"looking" being the key word here.

I would be pretty surprised if Sucker Punch's game or TLoU 2 launch in 2018. They've been propping Spiderman as their big fall exclusive already, it seems, SotC will be their early month title, and God of War locked down the spring months. With how little (no) actual substantial gameplay for either of those games without release dates it seems like they'd be rushed out of they hit before 2019.

That said, Spidey alone is exciting me for 2018 on PS4 in a way similar to the excellent 2016. Certainly miles ahead of Days Gone.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Then of course Sony has 3rd party exclusives like Final Fantasy Dissidia, Ni No Kuni 2, Left Alive, Shenmue 3, etc. to fill in the gaps. And some smaller titles like Concrete Genie, we'll likely see more of these at PSX.
I also think From Software's game will also be out in 2018.

From Software , currently working on 3 games - i think. Was it a rumor or official?

Usually I'm not too partial towards the more popular big commercial games. But Spiderman is looking really really good, and reminds me of Spiderman 2. So I'm very interested in that one.
And Ghost of Tsushima has me intrigued as well.

The Spiderman-Game looks better than the movies (Characters, Lightning, Fights) : D i'm no spiderman-fan, but i want this game!!

I sold my PS4 a while back. Mostly due to financial reasons but the decision was easy because outside of Persona 5 and The Witcher 3, Gaming just wasn't doing it for me. Sony has somehow changed that. I am so hyped for video games. I truly thought I outgrew them. But what Sony is offering and able to nurture has me so impressed.

This conference was a perfect reason why I love Sony. It's why I love Sony and Despise Microsoft. Because for each risk Sony takes, MS takes a safe bet. Sony invests in themselves and their portfolio. While EA and Acitvision want to kill of Single Player Games in favour of GAAS and Multiplayer.

Sony is one of the few that are remaining committed to the best experience for a Gamer.

Videogames for SOny is much like Nintendo. Its now their bread and butter, so they will invest in being the best. Microsoft is not compelled by creativity and also because videogames are not the bottom line for them. Thank goodness for Sony and Nintendo, man.  Play Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey and you will see why 2017 is one fo the best years in gaming. Next year is ramping up to be better than this year. If Nintnedo drops some hot games, omg its going to be insane.

Yea I have a switch and a PS4 and I just have to many games to play. In the middle of Mario + rabbids right now and still have so many old games to play on PS4. This weekend I think I'm going to get and beat the last Uncharted game which I never got to play.

2018 is for me the year of gaming

2018 is the biggest year for any player on PS4, that's for sure. So many wonderful games appear. Japanese RPG masterpieces like Ni No Kuni 2, Dragon Quest 11 and Kingdom Hearts 3. Survival-adventures like "Days Gone". Brilliant games like "Detroit Become Human" and "Red Dead Redemption 2". Creative games like "Dreams". Spiderman, God of War, Monster Hunter World, Metal Gear Survive, DBZ Fighters Z, Yakuza 6, new Digimon/One Piece/Naruto/Sword Art Online-Game, the next Dynasty Warrios, Assassins Creed, new Battlefield.. and much more is being announced. Let's see what surprises Capcom and Koei Tecmo still announce. Many people hope that Onimusha and Devil May Cry are in development.

This is my favorite time in a gaming generation. The big games built from the ground up for this hardware coming out after 3-4 years of development. 2016-2019 thus far has been fantastic and is setting up to continue to be.

Overblown. 2017 was supposed to be their year as well. It was taken from them imo.
