Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4’s Jan-June 2018 looking to surpass that of 2017.

Jan-June 2017’s 5 games or 2018’s SotC remake, GoW, and Detroit?

2017’s lineup 11 18.97%

2018’s lineup 47 81.03%

Total:58

Ps4’s exclusive lineup for the first half of 2017 was widely considered stellar:  Nioh (88 MC), Horizon ZD (89 MC), Nier (88 MC), Persona 5 (93 MC), and Crash N’Sane trilogy. There were also MLB the show and What Remains of Edith Finch, tho mlb isn’t really a big gun, and WROEF I believe came to XBO shortly after. Edit:  also Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Gravity Rush 2, and Yakuza 0

Ps4’s exclusive lineup for 2018’s first half is already shaping up to be pretty huge.

Shadow of the Collosus remake:  2/6/18

God of War:  “early 2018”, which means at least by June, but to me seems like it means March or April. And GoW has traditionally released in March.

Detroit:  just announced that it will launch in spring 2018, so approx. April-June.

Spider-Man:  I think this is unlikely—it would just be too many big games—tho I do think Sony would want to release Spider-Man while there was still some form of hype over Avengers: Infinity War, which releases 5/4/18. Maybe release in June? EDIT: After E3, Sony did mention Spider-Man was planned for the first half of 2018, as flashfire926 pointed out. I had forgotten this. So unless it gets delayed, it could release in May or June.

Edit:

Yakuza 6:  releases 3/2018

Ni No Kuni:  1/2018

Dissidia FF

Any other announced exclusive game (big or small) release dates I missed for first half 2018?

For me personally 2017 wins by a good bit. Spiderman and SotC looks good but I have no real interest in gow or Detroit while i was really excited for nier, crash, persona, gravity rush and nioh

Pretty sure there is a thread detailing all major PS4 games coming from Jan - March. Lots of exclusive JPN content.

and MLB is big enough for Sony. San Diego studio pretty much survives on its continued success.

I definitely agree. I think it’s quite valuable for Sony, and it seems to have become substantially more successful on PS4 and even with each passing year. I just meant it isn’t a typical “trophy” exclusive for the average PS4 owner.

For me, 2018 wins easily bc I will be getting all 3 of the major exclusives, almost without a doubt; however, of 2017’s big 5, I got only HZD (will get crash eventually). I freakin LOVED Horizon, but for me idt it will be able to compete with 2018’s big three.

So just ignore my post?
What makes you decide that Yakza 0 shouldn't be included in '2017's big (insert number)'?

Yakuza 6 is coming out in March 2018.

Since you mention how much you loved Horizon, and MC scores, you're clearly talking about the quality of the games.
Yakuza 0 recieved an 85 on MC, which is higher than the 80 for the Crash game you mentioned. And Gravity Rush 2 had the same MC score as Crash.

I didn’t ignore your post my friend! I immediately edited my thread to include the three games you mentioned. :)

Idk, I think those 5 games are generally considered “the big 5”. I don’t have some official criteria; I was basing it off of wider appeal and popularity, in addition to quality. Those 5 were the big sellers and had a lot of people talking about them. I knew Yakuza 0 released during that timeframe, but I heard very little overall conversation about it.

Op , you need pics !
