Remember when 2017 was gonna be an awesome packed year? A lot got delayed, Scalebound canceled.

Red Dead Redemption 2, Vampyr, Crackdown 3, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Sea of Thieves, (maybe Kingdom Hearts 3 or FF7 Remake were also supposed to come out this year? One of them at least.) All of these delayed.

You might disagree with me for sure, as I only own an Xbox One at the moment. But for me, 2017 was lackluster.
Only games i got this year were The Surge, Valkyria Revolution and Elex.

Now Elex isn't a GOTY material. Valkyria Revolution sucked balls. So I'd go for The Surge. Loved the hell out of it.

Don't worry guys. I'm planning on getting a PS4 next year.

Of course you're disapointed. Xbox1 had almost no legendary games (besides cuphead). All the GOTY contenders are on ps4 or switch

Persona 5

Splatoon 2

Breath of the wild

Mario odyssey

Horizon Zero dawn

At least cuphead got more attention I guess

Zelda BotW takes it for me.

Mario is amazing, and Persona was a fun time, but Zelda was just something truly incredible. It was the type of game I really couldn't pry myself away from, I just wanted more and more of it.

Honorable mention to Fire Emblem: Echoes.

NNID: Zephyr25 / PSN: Zephyr--25 / Switch: SW-4450-3680-7334

Haven't played Mario yet but that seems like a good contender. All of the games I had been looking forward to this year have been disappointing.
ACO is pretty good but it's not AC anymore. And I imagine Far Cry 5 will be along the same lines.

If Mario doesn't blow me away my GOTY will be yet again Rocket League. Though even that has taken a nose dive with its shitty loot boxes.

God, what a terrible year.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I've literally played none of the games in the poll. In fact the only games I've played that released this year are Crash, Wipeout, Everybody's Golf & Yooka-Laylee.

I'm really bad at playing games, I just procrastinate instead.

1. Crash

2. Yooka-Laylee (underrated)

3. Rocket League (minus points for cheating years.)

Woah woah woah. What happened to ELEX?

The what now?

South Park: Fractured but Whole and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm. Halo Wars 2 has been excellent too.

Haven't played HZD and BotW though, I bet they're good.

Many really amazing games this year. What a great year for gaming.

To me, Breath of The Wild would deserve GOTY, followed closely by Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn and - there´s no way to not mention it - Super Mario Odyssey

Sonic Mania, Mario Odyssey and Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy are very good but for me the best has been Yooka Laylee. Platformers are one of my favourite genres and I don't recall any really good RPGs that released this year (I haven't played Persona since I haven't enjoyed the previous games) It could be FFXII because really enjoyed it in 2007 but I haven't played the remaster and given its significant changes I can't really say. If releases like Star Ocean 3 count then that game might be my favourite too.

A really good year for games though with BOTW, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier Automata, Tales of Berseria, Puyo Puyo Tetris, remasters like FFIX, Kingdom Hearts and Wonder Boy plus many others.

Breath of the wild, just shading Odyssey. Nintendo really have stepped it up a few notches. Honourable mentions to ARMS, Uncharted lost legacy, Splatoon 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. 2017 has been a great year for gamers, and I still have Xenoblade 2 to come.
