Forums - Politics Discussion - First charges filed in Mueller investigation

Russian Roulette "winner"?

Paul Manafort 26 45.61%

Michael Flynn 10 17.54%

Jared Kushner 3 5.26%

Don Jr. 2 3.51%

Hillary Clinton 13 22.81%

Tony Podesta 3 5.26%

Total:57

Yeah so none of this looks good for Trump or his campaign but even more interesting is what this means for Russia/US relations. One of the laws that Mannafort broke was the declaration of agency for a foreign entity which was passed in 1938. This laws is designed to protect the US from infiltration via a foreign power. Its basic self protection there. The crazy part is that for Mannafort, this charge is also related to work he did on behalf of Russia in Ukraine. He should have never been anywhere near Trump's campaign on principal that he is guilty of so much already. The second charge against George Papa is just even worse. And what the hell is wrong with Steve Bannon. He is trying to incriminate Trump by asking him to derail the investigation against him. That ended yesterday.

That Fox News only mentioned that charges have been filed, but not who it concerned, and then went straight to more important news, like "A Millenial ruining Halloween", "Reese's chocolate bars are the most popular candy" and "Hamburger Emoji crisis".

I thought it was a joke until I saw the segment myself.

Anyway, I think things like this are more commonly occuring than we know because it doesn't come to light as often.
In this case there was already an investigation underway and it recently expanded.
Usually they start off by charging people who are easier to endict first, because they may give up information on the bigger fish for a reduced sentence.
As was the case in the Nixon watergate investigation.

Thats actually kinda scarry.  They need to remove news from their name.  Perhaps they can add 'Reducation', or 'Mind Control'

While it is obvius they are dishonest, it is even more obvious that they are willfully trying to keep their viewers ignorant.

It scares me that they want to even do that to people.

I can't tell if Bannon is stupid, or bitter.

Trump firing Mueller would be the final nail in his coffin.

So Bannon is either stupid in not knowing this, or he is bitter from being kicked out - so he is trying to get Trump impeached.

So yes he does strike me as the type who would try to sink Trump purposefully.

There is an even more sinister plan.  It suggests that Bannon might become a target and that he wants Trump to defund the investigation because he might be next.  If Bannon is connected Trump must use Bannon as his fall guy.  If Bannon can get Trump to kill the investigation, Trump goes down and the investigation can't touch Bannon.

So either Bannon wants to kill Trumps presidency or he wants to protect himself. Either way, you have to hand it to Trump for keeping the worst company anyone can think of.

You people are insane if you think any of this takes down Trump.

What do you meantake down Trump?  Its more about shining a light on fraudulant campaign practices.  The only thing that could take down Trump is if it was found that the firing of James Comey was a result of the questioning of George Papa which just happen to occur on the same day Trump asked Comey to stop.  The fact that George plead guilty and that James said Trump fired him for not dropping the cause amounts to obstruction of Justice.  This is real.  Its strangly reminds us of Nixon and Trump may be forced to resign.  The truth is, all Trump had to do was let the investigation play out and claim ignorance. But he is too stupid.  Even worse was when Trump fired Sally Yates after questionning about Flynn.  He has to PRAY, that Flynn doesn't talk or else that is two counts of obstruction.  This is Trumps real threat.  This is what can take hime down.  Trump defeated himself... sighs.

Looks like Flynn, and Flynn JR are next.

Maybe he will do two a week?

I still think Don Jr. and Kushner are next. I can't imagine the tweet storm when one them get brought in.

Wilbur Ross = Trump's Pick for commerce secretary. His economic adviser.

A trove of leaked documents made public Sunday purport to show financial ties between Russia and a member of President Trump's cabinet.

They also reportedly show how state-run Russian companies funded large investments in Twitter and Facebook.

The leak, called the Paradise Papers, was revealed when the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and its dozens of collaborating news outlets on Sunday published investigations related to them. The reporting partners included the New York Times, the Guardian and the BBC.

The project, which is based on more than 13.4 million documents dated from 1950 to 2016, covers a large number of global corporations, government leaders, and prominent people and their use of offshore accounts to avoid taxes or otherwise hide ownership of assets.

The reporting is similar to the Panama Papers, which in 2016 exposed cases involving celebrities and business executives who reportedly moved large chunks of their wealth into offshore tax havens.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross :

The New York Times reported that Trump's commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, has retained a multimillion-dollar stake in Navigator, a shipping company whose top customers include the Russian energy firm Sibur.

Sibur's owners include a member of Russian President Vladimir Putin's family and a Russian oligarch, according to the Times, which also says the firm itself was created by the Russian government.

Another of Navigator's clients is PDVSA, Venezuela's state-run oil company, which Trump targeted with sanctions this year.

The Times reports that Ross held his stake in Navigator through a "chain of companies in the Cayman Islands."

The Times also says "much" of Ross's wealth, which is estimated to total around $2 billion, is tied up in secretive offshore investments.

When Ross disclosed his finances earlier this year, he included Navigator as a company he intended to retain an interest in. But that document did not disclose how large his stake was because it was not required.

But that won't help Ross escape political controversy.

Senator Richard Blumenthal
, a member of the Senate Commerce Committee that questioned Ross before his appointment, accused Ross of misleading the committee and the public by "concealing an ongoing financial relationship" with Russians.

"Inexcusable and intolerable," Blumenthal said in a series of tweets Sunday. "Americans are owed answers on this Cabinet's troubling failure to disclose links to Russian interests."

Now it is looking like Carl Icahn could be next.
This feels more like a suspense drama than politics.

Perhaps more like a horror film. "They got Manafort and Gates", "Padapabalips is wounded in the corner". Who will the killer get next? Flynn and Flynn Jr? Kushner or D.JR?
or SURPRISE new victim - Carl Icahn.

Really hard to tell which way the wind will blow.

After the interview Natalia Veselnitskaya just had I'm 100% sure both Don Jr. and Kushner are fucked.

Yes, how many times must a "leader" fail
Before you see the fault is with the man?
Yes, how many suits must plead “Guilty”
Before it costs them their brand?
Yes, how many R’s must take the fall
Before Dear Leader cannot stand?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind…
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Trump directed Flynn to talk to the Russians? I am pretty sure that a national security adviser is supposed to talk to the Russians along with pretty much every other country on the map. Sounds like more fake news from the MSM who is getting increasingly desperate to impeach Trump before their corporate overlords lose all hope of turning the west into North Korea 2.0.
