Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gamestop announces PowerPass Game Rental service

Be digital and then I will listen.

sucks, this seems to be only for used games, they don't usually have the latest AAA games used so this is mainly to rent older games.

Gamestop is only good for B1G1F. I take advantage by getting very recent games. This year I'll probably get BotW used for Switch to get Spla2oon for free

Gamestop is stuck in the past. Renting physical games? What year is this?

If games can be bought physically, why can't they be rented in the same way?

I recently bought (very cheaply) gears of war 1-3 used from gamestop, and finished each in two sessions, playing with a friend locally. God damn would I be dreading having spent $60 on each if that were the case.

Having spent for example $6 in rentals for each would be perfectly fine. Sure, there is multiplayer, but meh. Lots of games don't offer $60 worth.

You should change this title to, "Gamestop announces its going to copy a proven business model used by Blockbuster."

So... you trade your used games for other ones? Does it have to match with the price worth of the game you're trading with? How does this work?

$60 for 6 months? That will save me a lot of money considering how many used games I go through.

$10 a month? Yeah, Na.

That's how much game pass costs for 100 games. Though they are older games.

If this comes to Canada I'll fuck with this. I wonder how Publishers feel? They were so adamant about undermining the Used game market. That's how we get DRM, Xbox One Fiascos and the re-release of classic titles as Digital products.

Interesting.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
