Then again if you look at smash bros they expanded their list to include stuff like cloud, bayonetta etc.

So if we were talking just Sony games - I could get behind it.

I think they knew they could pull things from E3 once they realised that MS literally had nothing new of any big scope to show. I mean Sucker punches game has got to be a 2018 title and they could have easily shown it, but why bother when you might as well leave it (or other announcements) to near the time when X comes out. I think we're slowly seeing a change in scope by games companies not to announce to early as it gives them flexibility when to do it.
