Forums - Gaming Discussion - How skilled at you at playing games?

Depends on the game, action titles (DMC, Bayonetta, Nier:A etc...) I'm very good at, RPGs and fighting games I'm good at, RTS' I'm average at, survival horror titles I'm fairly decent at while most other games it comes down to the game itself.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Depends on the genre.

I'm a god at racing games though.

I would like to think I'm above average but who knows.

I think I'm a good in fighting games, but I'm just a average player overall.

I've tried to play League of Legends, I think I played season 3 to 5, but I only managed to get to Gold 2.

Managed Plat 5 playing with a decent duo player..... as a support/jungler.

But yeah... Im avg at best too. League is more about knowledge and makeing smart choices, than actual micro-management stuff (skills).

I suck at fighting games, and generally dont play them.

Jrpgs? non of them really take "skills" to play, again its just putting in the work, and embraceing the grind :)

Platformers? Im okay, but Id not willing do the cuphead level of insanity I see there (doesnt seem fun), neither do those insane Mario Makers levels where they replay the same level for a year trying to get through them.

I dont think you need to be "good" at gaming to enjoy it.

You need to have 5 hands and 10 fingers in each hand in order to clear some Mario Maker levels. But some games are made to be difficulty. Like, for example,  Super Meat Boy, Cat Mario, Dark Souls.

I think platformer is one of the most challenging genres because they usually need a lot of skill from the player and also have some puzzle elements.  I never had any problem playing Crash, but I did struggled in some levels of Super Mario Bros 3; and the Spyro, the one he is chained to a dark dragon, was really difficult.

It's  hard to tell the difficulty of a Esport game. Since they  are multiplayer games, even if you are a average gamer, you will play like a god if you are against bad players.

I don't think shooters(single player) are hard. You just need to take cover and don't burn your ammo on nothing.

I also struggled in Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. It was so hard to get through some areas, the battle against The Sorrow in MGS3 was really a Pain.

The point is: despite the fact some gamers are really bad, it's hard to believe that someone is so bad to the point of being unable to finish the game at all.

I suck big time at strategy games. To this day I've yet to beat Warcraft 3, or most RTSs for that matter. I always get obliterated no matter what I do. Another offender is Heroes of Might and Magic, where the enemy hero always manages to have an army three times as powerful as mine. I've given up with most of these.

My best gaming feats, I dunno tbh. I've beaten The Evil Within twice in Akumu Mode (Extra difficulty with more powerful enemies in early areas and the main character dying in one hit regardless of what hits him), and I can beat Dark Souls under three hours. I'm also able to score perfect Critical Chain in most Threathrythm Final Fantasy songs on the highest difficulty. That's all I can think.

Better than i think i am but worse than i'd like to be. Struggle a bit in fast paced twitch pvp games compared to few years ago.

I got plat IV in less than 200 games with around a 56% win rate, felt pretty good about that one. Also felt I could rise more but the meta is just so stale.

OT: I think I am pretty good, but that is only because I been playing since birth and a lot of playtime. If others had as much playtime as me I think they would be better than me.
