Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why Metroid Prime 4?

it's not the final title

But I think they should not have called it Metroid Prime, it should be Metroid "something", I mean the Metroid Prime series should be kept close and they should continue with something new, even if they keep the FPA model of Prime.

Uf, Metroid Prime means that's main 3D Metroid game, thats massage they sending buy calling this game Metroid Prime 4.

I know what you ment. It's terrible to suggest someone mental treatement.

why do you think it is so terrible to have mental treatment? it is basicaly the same thing as having a normal doctors appointment.
so, you think lesser or people that have disabilities? or why is it terrible?

Metroid Prime: Other Federation Force M

Nooooo Dx at least when I buy a Metroid Prime game, I hope to at least get a Metroid Prime gameplay experience! Metroid: Other Federation Force M can exist, fine, just without the Prime monicker is preferred =p

Well if you had autism you wouldn't care what others thought about you. It's effectively a victimless crime.

Also on topic, it's Metroid Prime 4 because if it was revealed and called Federation Force 2 then the Switches which have all been sold so far would have been set on fire and mailed back to Nintendo along with death threats.

I'd love an explanation for the first part of your post, because as a trained professional providing social services to adults with developmental disabilities, I find that statement a bit bewildering...

Regarding the second part of your post: Haha...

Both first and second parts of my post were in jest, just a play on the condition and how different degrees of it can have effects on the normal social cues that a person would normally display under normal conditions, have a relative who you literally have to say "I'm upset with you" before he will get that, even if you were crying.

Fantastic to hear you're doing the line of work you're in though, life would be a lot harder without people like yourself.

Didn't mean to offend with either part of the post though, like I said was in jest..... I'm sure not ever Switch would be set alight either :D someone must have enjoyed Fed force... god rest their souls.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It conveys what the game is in a simple and effective manner.

If they just called it "Metroid Prime for the Switch" it could come-off as a remake or reboot of sorts. If they called it "Metroid Somethingelse" people wouldn't be sure about what it'd really be and would be worried it would turn out like Other M.

By just calling it "Metroid Prime 4" it's very easy to make a simple logo trailer for it and get everyone hyped as shit. I know personally I'd rather have the game called something else when it's all said and done, but if I had seen that trailer showing off a logo for Metroid Somethingelse rather than Prime 4 I definitely wouldn't have gotten as hyped and would have seen it with a lot more caution.

Either way, they have said it's a working title, which means they might (or might not) change it.

Trailer!? What trailer?

Oh... :(

Metal Gear Solid V

Metroid Prime 9

You see how silly it looks?

Considering that it's taken 17 years to get from the release of Metroid Prime to the announcement of Metroid Prime 4, that's not a question that will be answered before the year 2038.

Metroid Prime 4 is Nintendo's way of saying: "Look we are doing the Thing".

I hope they change it to just a subtitle instead.

The number 4 implies a continuation of the same story and most of the conventions, and I feel like a new Prime game would be better off with some more leg room.

This.

I hope the final name isn't 4, just cause I dislike numberings. But for marketing purposes labeling it Prime 4 is the best way to garner hype.

Once they have gameplay they can show off, as long as it looks like a Prime game, they can call it whatever the hell they want. But giving it Prime 4 labeling when we only have a title is crucial. Otherwise as you said we don't know if it will be like Other M, be like a 2D scroller, a pinball game, or who the hell knows. Prime 4 tells us its a FPS Metroid game.

To be fair I do agree that subtitles are usually cooler than merely numbers. I too prefer a good subtitle and I hope this New Metroid gets a decent name. However the idea that numbers too high become "silly" is strange to me, if they do numbers I don't care if at one point they reach 17 or whatever.

Come to think of it, how do you feel about a name like 'SimCity 3000'? Also, N64 games, I know that's different but still; Super Mario 64?
