I totally understand why anyone would want another Eternal Darkness, but I just don't think a sequel would live up to the hype...
I'd love a remake though...
Have a nice day...

I would love to see a 2.5D Ice Climbers game on the Switch.
It could be a wonderful co-op, puzzle platformer for the Switch.
They could even have the outfit colour for the player match the Joycon you use; selling more Joycon in the process.
I'm not a huge fan of StarTropics, but it would be cool to see what they did with it now.

Technically it was published by both Enix and Nintendo so either both get credit or neither. :P |
Nintendo of America localized the game, but Enix published it. The game was developed by Treasure and produced by Enix.
Here are the credits:

I suppose this is semantics. In my opinion, a game that is not developed by Nintendo and instead, simply contracted, isn't a Nintendo game. Even if Nintendo OWNS it legally, it's not a Nintendo game. I view it in the same way as I do other mediums. When Michael Jackson bought Beatles songs... were they Michael Jackson songs? No, they were Beatles songs etc. So, when I think of "Nintendo games" to revive, I think of things like F-Zero or Retro/Rare IP that Nintendo helped develop. |
Miyamoto and Iwata were both producers on Eternal Darkness, and Dennis Dyack has discussed working with them hands on in the game's development. Kenji Miki is another producer for the game, who has also worked on such projects as Paper Mario and Melee. Tatsuya Hishida and Hiro Yamada are other Nintendo employees who worked as directors on the project.

I mean, given the short time it took for them to get it together, i could see them not bothering to edit the credits. But it was published in western markets by Nintendo. The game wouldnt have came out whatsoever but if it werent for Nintendo, the western audience may have never gotten to play it. |
It was localized by Nintendo, not published. They could have got a different localization team if Nintendo didn't localize it.
It's not a Nintendo game, Nintendo has no ownership of the game, it is Treasure/Enix.

Or Murasame could be a Ninja Gaiden-esque hack and slash. Like the idea you have there for Gumshoe. Didn't think anyone remembered it. |
I can't imagine many remember Gumshoe, but I think it would be a good game to reboot in an effort to diversify their catalogue...
Murasame would make a great hack and slash; I only suggest it as an alternative to Zelda so that they could put BotW's engine to good use and it would probably have more widespread appeal in Japan, as well as Korea and China, markets in which the Switch is launching soon (or has already launched)...
Have a nice day...
But to be honest, I think more new IPs would be better, they should try to get out of their comfort zone more, like they did during the GC era
