How Many Male Gamers Choose To Play As A Female

Male 280 36.75%

Female 322 42.26%

Show me the results 160 21.00%

Total:762

If there is a choice, always male. Easier to identify with, I imagine.

Usually female since I find them easier to look at.

I typically choose a male character, but when I was younger, I have chosen a female character as it was "funny". Now, I choose male unless the game mechanics has special abilities or features based on your character choice. Then I honestly don't care about the gender. Granted, there have been times I've chosen a female character as an adult when game mechanics didn't matter solely because the female character was kinda hot.

Most of the time, if there's a choice, I play as a female but in RPGs If my character is a warrior, I play as a male.

"[MALE ONLY POLL OBVIOUSLY]" - Totally necessary for the three females on this site!

I default to male in create your character games like Fire Emblem, though I'll choose female on additional playthroughs. In a game with established characters like Smash, I just play who I like regardless of their gender.

EDIT: I'm surprised the poll results are that even, was expecting female to have way more percentage. I mean just look at all the male users with female avatars, hell the dolphin in my avatar coukd be female for all I know!

There's way more than three, look at the avatars. Unless there's a lot of transgenders on the site.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

i usually choose females when given the choice. I rather look at a female body a lot as opposed to a male

Have you considered breast implants?

...something for you to look at all day.

I just started South Park and it's one of the very rare occasions where I chose a male character. I usually only do that where the immersion is too great. In South Park it just wouldn't feel right if there was a girl in the group. The other big exception is Dragon Age, where roleplaying is on a whole other level and much more personal.

Depends on the game/genre usually.

Indeed.

Souls - always a male

Street Fighter - always Cammy

I always choose a male character, but sometimes I play as a female because some classes are gender locked. But, really, for me, it doesn't matter whether the character is female or male.

I usually choose a class that isn't human. I think it makes no difference, for example, if I play as a female or male Argonian/Khajiit in Skyrim.
