Forums - General Discussion - NeoGAF in shambles (now back, no OT discussion, statement from Evilore)

There have been multiple threads on this website where users have wrongfully accused me of something. My stance has always been to keep the threads open instead of running to the mod team and asking for a lock. If you aren't guilty, what do you have to lose?

We do have facts in this case. Evilore instructed his mod team to cover up for him and censor all discussion about the topic, including bans for people who dared to bring it up. This cannot be ignored from a neutral position.

You're still drawing conclusions based a wrong choice by Evilore, a choice you can't even relate to regardles of what you think is an equivalent. It's nothing like this same thing.

Just looking at your wording in this post, it's clear you've already found him guilty. You are saying he's trying to cover his guilt and calling people who want to 'assume' his guilt, 'brave'. It CAN be ignored and I WILL ignore it until there is actual proof. I also want to know the context, even if what she said happened did in fact happen. Remember, by her own words, she shared a hotel room with this man (supposedly Evilore) while she still had a boyfriend. He got into the shower with her and she explained she didn't cheat. He then got out of the shower. Did her boyfriend leave her because he didn't know this guy had got in the shower with her and then left without doing anything OR did he leave her because he didn't know whe was sharing a room with someone? Which is more likely? Did she put 'she didn't cheat' in the post because she knew her boyfriend would find out and wanted to cover her tracks OR is it a completely honest statement knowing her boyfriend would stick by her. He didn't, so I can't help feeling there's far more to this story than any simple accusation.

AGAIN: I'm NOT saying there is no guilt here, I'm saying we DO NOT know were the guilt lies until we get further information. I'm merely offering another side to a possible story and not simply drawing conclusions based on heresay and a post on social media.

Note to self, don't get drunk with vgchartz members in a hotel room, start vomiting and hop in the shower. A few too many may hop in naked to see how I'm doing.

Maybe they would just want to help me squish the chunks down the drain?

It's just an innocent thing that happens among friends sometimes.

The are apprently other incidents involving the guy and as for the shower part unless she invited him into the shower that's a hard case to argue mixed messages if you're not given a full on invite to jump in.

She has a boyfriend and said yes to a road trip with another guy. The two of them it seems. Got drunk with him and was having fun.

I can see how that can be a mixed message. I would just like to hear his side of the story. Even if this was it. He got in the shower with her, wich was clearly a mistake and left once told. I don't see the harassment.

This is not like the Heirnstein guy or whatever he was called where he didn't care about what the woman said and was doing it anyways without giving them a choice. That is harassment.

I go on trips with friends often as well in fact this week a group of us is staying down at Victoria Dock for the London Comic Con doesn't mean we're going there to have sex behind our partner's backs it's just a fun occasion, people also have drinks with each other all the time as well still doesn't mean you can make a move on them. Sorry I don't fully buy the mixed message defence unless he was given a full invite to join her in the shower, if not then he shouldn't be barging in naked to jump in with her especially in this day and age.

This isn't even siding with her or not it's just highlighting that if true he's either a dumbass for doing it with out a full invite or always had the intention of getting more out of her.

Is there any actual proof he did this or is the entire thing based on speculation from that statement?

These kinds of things can't be proven, unless the guy admits it.

I'd have dispersed back here quicker but this site seems unbearably sluggish now since i've left. Tried making the post i made today, last night instead, but i couldn't get gamrconnect to load. Even today the connection's been sporadic.

It isn't that bad most of the time, it's because they're doing maintenances this weekend.

You're forgettingt that terms like "sexual assault" and "rape culture" include things that aren't sexual assault neither rape to MANY. NeoGaf mods weren't the brightest bulb in the room and it wouldn't surprise me if this whole thing is blown out of proportion.

lol@Khan and others calling facebook and twiiter Nazi-friendly websites. Well, I am glad your safe space (neogaf) got burnt to the ground.

Yes, the very definition has been heavily manipulated in recent years and many feminists are speaking out about it. BUT, that doesn't mean this falls into that catagory, just that it needs to be considered once we get the full picture. Remember, he got into the shower, she said she wasn't into cheating and he then left. He 'assumed' she was interested, that's it, until we here differently. Is it something that needs to dog him through life? Is it fair if that is ALL that happened?

Yeah that sounds legit. Doesn't everyone assume that drunken vomitting is a sign she's into it? I mean the only natural progression from there is to silently strip butt naked and slip into her shower.

The guy is a serial predator, and gaf stayed quiet because they were cowards afraid of a banhammer.

If you feel you're getting mixed signals from someone, you use your words to try to clarify.
What you don't do is barge into their room and hop into their shower butt naked. Don't defend that kind of behaviour. That sounds like some Weinstein shit.

And if he used his authority to try to censor discussion about his behaviour, then that at the very least makes him look more guilty.

Either way, I didn't know much about how the mods behaved over there. But from what Aqua said in regards to how they handled Aqua's account and NPD George, they don't sound like the most reasonable people on earth.

Words first, cock out second, while seemingly quite simple, a concept some here seem to be struggling with.

You are far from neutral, you are basically playing Tyler's lawyer here and I say it as one myself.

It's basically saying on a court case of murder "yeah, we can't infer nothing from his background of violence, the fact threatened his neighbors to keep quiet and confessed his wife and kids something so disgusting they all left him, but who knows which true motives lie behind the statements of the prosecutors and the witnesses?"

I'm satisfied because everyone from Tyler to the mods to the users worked together to create the shitstorm we're witnessing, so basically everyone is reaping what they've sown. The writing was on the wall from long ago, really, ever since the Amirox case, the way Tyler reacted after Gamergate etc.

Let me get this straight. He was flirting with a woman who was drinking and he thought he could get a shower with her? Did he physically assault her?

What are the second allegations about?
