Forums - Gaming Discussion - Crappy games you find fun

What constitutes shitty? Ground rules:

1. Gamerankings and Metascore have to be below 65%
2. You have to genuinely enjoy the game in spite (or because) of its terribleness.
3. Suggestion: It should be obvious why it is a shitty game. So maybe avoid games like Trivial Pursuit/board games, brain teaser games, karaoke games, or learning games, that actually aren't shitty for what they are, but scored poorly because the general review community didn't appreciate the genre/concept. In addition - reskins of much higher scoring games (i.e. Just Dance Summer) should be left off.

Post yours.

To kick things off:

Cruis'n USA. A fairly obscure racing game on the N64 that I picked up dirt cheap in a bargain bin long after the N64 had ceased to be relevant. To be honest, I got it as a joke.
Indeed the game is every bit as terrible as it sounds:

1. According to the game, about half of the parts in the US that are notable to visit are in California, as that's where the first half of the game is located. Once you leave California, they start reusing music, and many of the levels look the same as others.
2. The Red Wood forest level is one of the lowest framerates you'll ever experience on the N64.
3. You can apparently run down red-woods with ease, but palm-trees are invincible.
4. Cars always land on their feet.
5. Every race ends with this really awkwardly writhing woman with a trophy. I think she's on drugs.
6. All races are easy, within 4 seconds, you leave the competition in the dust, and not see them for the remainder of the race.
7. The soundtrack is seriously one of the awesomest and most disgustingly cheesy of all time.
8. Parties always occur on the roof of the white house, even when they include cattle.

This game puts a smile on my face to play.
It currently holds a score of 50.63% on Gamerankings

Behold! Cruis'n USA in all its glory... yeah-hah, whoahoahoah!

Wii Play, just because laser hockey on there is one of the most fun games I've ever played.

Devils Third

Many games I love that got bad reviews but I don't consider bad.

Also Cruis'n USA wasn't obscure. It was pretty popular series in arcades in the 90s. I always thought World was the best in the series. OST is esp fun.

Wipeout (Wii). The ragdoll physics are amazing.

Rise of Nightmares for Kinect. Terrible in the best ways.

I like Digimon World 2 from the PS1 . I don't think developers tested the game before releasing. Its almost impossible to pass the initial level in the first try, or second, or third...

1 You will run out off fuel and will be sent back home
2 Your digimon hasn't enough mana to endure in a dungeon, neither you have enough digimons in the beginning.
3 You are almost useless if you spend your money poorly and is unable to clear a dungeon.
4 There is several traps inside the dungeons. Those traps can damage your minimap, can also turn your vision black and really damage you.
5 The dungeons are created randomly and, despite the fact some dungeons have several floors, there is no checkpoint nor anything to heal you before the bosses; only if you drop some medicines from monsters or find it in a chest, but those things are very far from fully healling the Party. Those bosses are really tough.

I still like to play the game and my favorite part is the randomness of the fusion/Rebirth system.
It's somewhere below 45 on Metacritics.

Knaaaaaaack

I don't think I've ever even played a game with a Metascore below a 65% ...

ReCore. It had a score of 62. To be honest, I feel like if this game had maybe a month more time before release, that it would have easily gotten 65+ on Metacritic but alas, there were quite a bit of bugs that led to this game getting relatively low scores all around.

I heard the re-release is much better. You can skip all the repetitive core hunt.
