"This is going to bomb harder than the WiiU."

Okay, maybe I overreacted a little bit, hehe.

I wasn't happy.

I'm still not really sold on the hardware itself, and I'd still stand by the things about it I found questionable back then, but of course it's actually about the games. And because Breath of the Wild came out on WiiU, I don't have a Switch yet, but with Mario Odyssey, although I'm again not as confident as I once was about other things they made in the past, they did make the Mario game I've been wanting since Mario 64. So maybe I shouldn't whine, Mario Odyssey could be the game, even if not right away, that makes me get a Switch.

In all seriousness, I do agree with you on some things. I still think a better approach could've been executed with a console and handeld with a unified development environment, so that for example a base Mario Kart engine could be made, then different graphics/courses would be made for 2 platforms

Let's face it. A lot of the people who bought MK8 also bought MK7. Stuff like that, including 2D/3D Mario, leads to lost sales, but of course I don't have any definitive data. Maybe this approach could've been better for getting major 3rd party games.

As far as games go, Nintendo is not disappointing. Mario Odyssey looks amazing, a breath of fresh air we lacked since the original Galaxy (or 3D Land I guess). Metroid Prime 4 is coming up, and we haven't even heard of Mario Kart/Smash Switch. I can't not buy this thing eventually :p

I was initially worried about the pricing and power, but despite it being pretty expensive and power being what I initially thought, it's great that the Switch is doing really well

On that day everyone praised it, then the talk changed for a few months. Now we are back to praising it.

Back then I thought it was stupid but a year later I'm still single and not popular, now I realize that I was the stupid one.

If only everyone who thought like you could come to the same conclusion. You are a beacon of hope, Leadified.

Yeah this was from E3 2016 I think. We've got some Metroid love so maybe I should change it

I've always been optimistic about the Switch, ever since it was revealed.

That's because he can't tell yet if Switch will be successful.

RolStoppable posted something on Proxy-Pie's wall:

Saw your post in the thread about recent VGC hardware numbers. Remember the thread you made after the Switch presentation in January.
Do you plan on becoming a legitimate scumbag?

Ayy.
So maybe making threads when I'm angry isn't the best idea.

Still hoping that Nintendo will announce a lot more games soon though..

on 15 April 2017

E3 isn't far away and the only game they've announced for 2018 so far is Fire Emblem. Would be weird if they left it at that.

Switch's sales pace is going to entice a lot of third parties to make games for Switch, but not sure if third parties mean anything to you.

Anyway, so much for being out of touch with reality. Switch won't go the way of Wii U.

on 15 April 2017

Switch's current sales pace still means nothing in the long run IMO. We'll see how it's weekly sales numbers will be come next year.

I don't expect major third party titles like Assassin's Creed and whatnot, it's too much work to be worthwhile. Either way, I think FIFA and the basic third party stuff is more than enough for this gen.

They do mean a lot to me. I don't play multiplats on consoles since I have a PC, but I do know how much the availability of multiplats means to general console buyers, including most of my friends who only play FIFA x.x

on 15 April 2017

And it's definitely not going the way of the WiiU if Nintendo has a better game output and better marketting, lol.

on 15 April 2017

You need a year of sales to be able to tell where things will be going? Okay...

on 15 April 2017

Hey, nothing wrong with a bit of skepticism.

Would make more sense if it was after Federation Force was announced.

Nothing wrong with skepticism? Lol, at that point, Nintendo's been disappointing me almost non-stop since 2012. I was right to be skeptical, but Nintendo's obviously taking steps in the right direction. They still do some relatively weird things like the Voice Chat stuff, so I'll remain skeptical, but I'm always hopeful.

@bold

Actually, now that I think about it, I may have added it after E3 2015. I think it was in response to FF, though I can't be sure.
Edit: Yeah, apparently I uploaded the gif on June 20th 2015, so it was in response to FF.

I was just surprised they sold the concept so well with just 3 mins. After that clip, I felt I just had to have it @_@
