When I unintentionally say something that offends someone, I just apologize. I can explain why I said it, but I always apologize. That is basic human decency. This would be nothing to talk about if he did not lie about it and say he had proof to back up his lie.
Just like the NFL with the protests, people are trying to run away from the simple things and end up making them far more complicated than they should be. He says, "I used a poor choice in words, I did not mean to offend a grieving widow, I apologize" and we call him stupid and move on. The people that support him are actually stupider than he is. His advisers are the dumbest people holding political power. Just tell him to say. "I am sorry" and end the shit.
The advisors to the NFL should have Just told the NFL in week 1 of the Kaepernick protest to say, "we support his principles but we do not support his manner of protest. We will extend help and money to awareness to any group or groups Kaepernick would like and we hope he will find another means of protest." No ratings drops, no big controversy, no president tweets, no year long idiocy and arguing. One week: Finished.
These fools, just like most people, are doing too much trying to avoid doing the right thing.
