I think they have a pretty healthy lineup of games but it would be amazing to see 10+ exclusive games each year, they have the resources to do it.

Ehhh... it's not healthy by traditional console standards. Microsoft has just created a culture of being primarily reliant on third party whether they know it or not. Traditionally third party only should serve on a marketing level to add to the excitement of their first party.

It's actually the complete opposite. Traditionally the lifeblood of a console is 3rd party support.

You'll be hard pressed to find many successful consoles that are lacking strong 3rd party support, with the one anomaly being the Wii.

The stronger the 3rd party support, the more viable the platform.

It's actually the combination of both. VR will play an additional roll in the future.

His post about "dude bro" shooters itself makes his whole post invalid lol.

Well anyway like I said people really need to read who is the Xbox exec.

Proud to be a Californian.

this was a weird quote from the Xbox Exec then and it still is weird to read. Obviously companies always want good PR but it's quiteeeeee a stretch to claim you have a strong holiday lineup when you have practically nothing launching outside of an acclaimed platformer also on PC/Steam (Cuphead). PUBG was a good snag but, again, it's not an exclusive unless you're cherrypicking and saying it's exclusive compared to the other home consoles

hopefully the Xbox brand goes hard in 2018 with the first party games. Spend some money Microsoft, I mean jesus you guys have billions in the bank yet you seem afraid to buy studios or even fund new ones on your own. I mean just the fact that they didn't bother to fight to purchase the Titanfall guys is bizarre. We'll see I guess

VR has nowhere to go without more content, and consoles don't exactly have a sound history of mass adoption of expensive peripherals. Only 2% of PS4 owners have opted for VR, so it's got a ways to go to be a significant factor.

Sony is not mass marketing VR properly, but they are more than adequately arming it with titles. They tend not to force their peripherals upon people and this could hurt game sales. The eyetoy always turned profit but never gained worldwide popularity even though it had superior games over its multiple generations compared to the Kinect.. If Microsoft did it, it would go much further because as far as they've proven (to me) in their time of gaming is they know how to majorly market and develop a ui.  Of course, they rode off of the back of the Wii With the first Kinect, but the definitely swung for the fences.

Were you sleeping?! During Black Friday Week PSVR even outsold X1X for a few days on Amazon.com.

Software is not a problem anymore and the market is growing rapidly. It's a natural development that can be estimated.

The time of VR naysayers are over. It will only grow from now on.

Until Sony revamps the Move controllers, VR will be stunted. The sensor controllers need analog sticks on them for it to work properly.

VR simply is difficult to market, that's the main problem...People need to try it out to be convinced, it doesn't work on the 2D screen/TV whatever. Sony is already trying several methods to get people to try it out, be it promo stands in electronics stores or the recent "try out at home" offer in the U.S.. Word of mouth will do its part.

As it seems Microsoft is more interested in the MR/AR field anyway. We'll see where they'll be heading.
