Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One Officially Licensed Keyboard & Mouse is Launching Soon

Never seen this complaint for the PS4 since it has had Keyboard and Mouse support for years.  Even 3rd party hardware like the one in this picture.  Is it only an issue when MS support the same feature??

It's mainly to type stuff and browse. Games are allowed to support it, but only 5 or 6 do so, none are shooters.

Is that a bad thing?

Being brutally honest, their sales are slowing down while the onslaught caused by PS4 and Switch only gets worse. At least it's not helping them the slightest.

Looks like the PS4 Version.

R.I.P controller users in online shooters, on xbox.

Stuff like this is enough for some to not want crossplay between PS4 & XB.

But this has been on PS4 forever.  Like years...

Destiny 2, Uncharted (multiplayer portion), Red Dead Redemption 2.

Destiny 2 is a good one. I didn't know RDR2 had online multiplayer.

Never even considered uncharted with keyboard/mouse. Wonder what that is like.

I remember when Destiny 1 was out there was this weird accessory you could buy. That let you use a keyboard/mouse.  I don't think many people used that though.

Now that you can use official ones, I'm curious how many people are doing that.

Perhaps it is not much of a problem after all.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will have multiplayer.

The Xbox One is getting a new keyboard and mouse! What’s more, the Hori Tactical Assault Commander Pro One is officially licensed by Microsoft, and so should work well.

Here’s the more premium $149.99 peripheral’s key features:

  • Officially Licensed by Microsoft
  • Key and sensitivity settings can be saved to user profiles and adjusted with mobile app
  • Special features such as Snipe button, quick button, ADS lock, and more
  • Ergonomic and comfortable with adjustable palm rest
  • LED-backlit mechanical keypad and gaming-grade mouse

This is so awesome. One of the main barriers between PC and Console is about to be broken.

Microsoft has done it again.

Nothing extraordinary, Sony has had the same device running on PS4 for a while now.

The PlayStation brand is more marketable than the Xbox brand.  Also, the Xbox One is struggling to keep up with the Switch and the PS4.  So, yes, it's only an issue with Microsoft.

Not sure if any of that has anything to do with supporting Keyboard and Mouse.  It seems like a stretch to say MS will suffer for supporting Keyboard and Mouse while its not the same for the PS4.

Too bad he didn't seem to know it or he would have sold his PS4 already.

Or it's only such a huge issue to not even want cross-play because of it when Xbox has something like that. We are on VGC after all.

Interesting. I wonder who is going to buy this. I bought a ps2 keyboard to play FF11 back in the day.

Feels like this will create an unbalanced aspect to games like Halo/Gears/PUBG. Almost like a microtransaction, or pay 2 win.

Probably won't create the "buy these or else" burden though.

It will but I doubt it will have a massive impact. I can't see this selling too well. Not to mention most if not all fps games on consol ehave an aim assist system built in. Surely plugging this in would turn that off. If it doesn't.... Yeah, there could be problems.

WTH is with that joystick coming out of the "keyboard"?

It's always an issue if Microsoft or Xbox is involve and people say nonsense like what JRPGfan and LivingMetal posted.
