Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Quick Switch Availability Poll [Update]

How has finding a Switch been for you?

I want it and found it - US 38 37.25%

I want it and found it - RoW 43 42.16%

I want it and can't find it - US 1 0.98%

I want it and can't find it - RoW 4 3.92%

I don't own it, and I don't want to - US 4 3.92%

I don't own it, and I don't want to - RoW 12 11.76%

Total:102

Are we, at long last, transitioning from "I can't get a Switch" to "I want THAT Switch?" We just might be, but let's see what you all say.

Demand met: 67/%/66%/71%/86%/83%

No demand: 31%/20%/24%/23%/17%

So what's the skinny?

Looks like demand has been met. With the exception of japan, we can expect sales to no longer be influenced by stock issues. That's good.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

For those who can't seem to find it, Amazon (the Canadian one at least) often kept their switch consoles restricted to Prime members. Currently, I can get Switch consoles, but if I want to get the Mario bundle, I need Prime. Might be worth getting a trial prime account for those who want it.

I really should stop by brick and mortar more often, have no idea what the current stock situation in my area is right now.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Japan is the only place where supply hasn't met demand.

I found a bunch at a Target in Port Saint Lucie Florida, and I bought it for a friend. They've also been on Amazon. Interestingly, they were sold out at a few other places. These are most definitely becoming more available.

Great for us.

Terrible for scalpers :)

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
I've seen them available in brick and mortar in three retailers now. In all three cases they only had one in the case. Twice at walmarts with the Splatoon bundle and once at Target. Personally I've been able to buy 2 of them since launch the first at launch through Amazon and the second as a present ordering through Wal Mart online.
Completely anecdotal, but I've seen them available in every retailer that I visit regularly, which would be 2 targets, 3 walmarts, and a best buy (though I've only been to the Best Buy a single time). The Targets generally seem to have a lot more of them in stock than the Walmarts. I live in Northern Virginia, btw.
