It's selling around 50,000 on a weekly basis. That is pretty high attach rate.

What is a generation anymore? If we are counting 3DS then Pokemon X/Y is over 15 million. If we're only talking Switch, PS4, and XboxOne the top selling game in Japan is Dragon Quest XI at 1.37 million (FFXV in second at 1 million). Just looking at data and Splatoon was the best selling game on the Wii U in Japan with an attach rate of 46%. 

Yeah, there is no precise concept of a generation anymore. It's probably best to just use a timeframe.

This generation or current platforms, what ever you want to call it, Animal Crossing New Leaf. Home consoles only it's either the original Splatoon or Dragon Quest XI PS4. (I think they're probably around the same right now but Dragon Quest XI should overtake it soon, followed by Splatoon 2 overtaking Dragon Quest XI PS4)

Splatoon 2 is a Switch pack-in-title. Still great sales though. :)

Think he's referring to how up VGC is with the tracking. We know from the Media Create threads that Splatoon is now selling sub-20k every week but for now it's still 50k+ per week on VG as of September 2nd.
