You disagree that there's not enough first party titles on Switch?

Is that a serious question?

I don't know how many systems you've tracked in their first year, but if you think the Switch is underdelivering I'd sure like to know why.

This isn't about tracking sales. Go back and read my original statement.

Counting Nintendo's original flagship franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, etc), you have two titles, and both are remakes or ports of their WiiU counterparts. Those who bought a Switch for Zelda, like I said, are looking to get more from it, and if the first party is lacking, then they will head toward third party in the short term.

Also, you really shouldn't get kneejerk defensive about this sort of stuff. This is a conversation about cutting third party titles on the Switch more slack than usual.

I'm not being kneejerk defensive, I'm just honestly not sure if I should be taking this seriously.

You do know a new Mario comes out in a week right? And I think Splatoon has done enough at this point to be considered a flagship title.

So even if Splatoon 2 isn't that much of a step up from the first, you still have that, Zelda, a new Mario, and a new Xenoblade about a month later. That's discounting the ports, even though MK8DX adds enough substantial content, and is addictive enough that most people would want to re-buy it anyway.

Considering the quality of the titles, you really think that's a poor showing for the first year of a system?

A video game is not a race... so no.

Nor are ideologies but we count those as well.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Zombi U was most blatant example of reverse racism thowards 3rd parties. That game was terrible.

This isn't new. Spurgeonryan liked How to Train Your Dragon 2. I think he's a lost cause.

I dont think that´s the case. Looking back at sales of third party games on Wii, DS and 3ds, there are some titles that sold very well, although we may argue most of them were exclusive of those platforms.
There are even a few but very curious cases of titles that sold equal or better on Nintendo platforms than others, like Rayman Legends and Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed.
I believe that it may feel that third party games are selling better on the Switch because the system is getting the attention of may consumers who are not "die-hard" Nintendo fans and are interested in playing more than just Nintendo games.

Yeah I'm gonna buy games on Switch because

A. It's my only console but I'm not gonna buy a shitty game with shit reviews. I made that mistake with Troll & I. I thought perhaps they would've fixed the bugs for the switch release but nah. I wasted a lot of money and it turns out the game wasn't even that good anyway. In general though I feel thatost games nowadays release with bugs anyway to reach deadlines and they are patched in usually within a month. It's the same for all Consoles though so idk why you just don't say are gamers giving 3Rd party games a pass on all Consoles instead.

Maybe Switch owners are starved for first party games, they're buying 3rd party while they wait?

We're talking about 2017 Switch, not 2014 PS4

Good one! HAHA

On topic: I understand the topic just by the title, it didn't need explanation. That said, the thing is not that people are being more tolerant with thirdies, but that if people can have the same game from other consoles, with portability and just a few shortcomings, then they can see value in it. I didn't have time to play long games at home (I work all day and study all night, 5 days a week, and in the weekend, I share the housework with my wife and try to rest a little), but would definitely play some of it in my launch break from work, for example.

Not really when Nintendo gamers will unconditionally buy games from Nintendo ...

Very few 3rd party games succeed on Nintendo and it has become even more true over the past years ...

Now I wonder if I'm supposed to even take this thread seriously when third parties happened to be classified as a 'race' ... (I'd liken Nintendo gamers relationship to that of third parties much like between confederate america and it's slaves)

Always be careful when you have people like me (I have more Atlus-published than Nintendo-published games on Nintendo platforms, and that's ignoring every other third-party game I have) around.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'll have you know that Nintendo itself discriminates against reverse racists.

In the latest Mario Kart, for instance, you get turned around when you try to race in reverse. This is an unacceptable state of affairs, so I am boycotting Mario Kart until they remove this "feature."
