Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Are Nintendo gamers engaging in reverse racism towards third parties?

When for some ungodly reason Mario Kart 8 Deluxe keeps selling, it can't be reverse racism. If Nintendo players are buying third party games, they're also buying first party games, therefore there's no discrimination here whatsoever. There can't be a preferential treatment for third parties when a Nintendo port from 2015 is top-selling.

Though to be fair the way you actually worded the question doesn't have anything to do with reverse racism, so I guess you just wanted a bit more of buzz for the thread with a not-so-sensible title/opening. Adressing the question itself, they probably do. One reason for this is because third party games tend to have the worst and the best of the industry, so no point ignoring it altogether but rather dwelling into them to see what you can find.

This topic isn't about total sales of games, it's about posts on this website specifically.

Are you implying those people posting don't own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already?

RolStoppable said:

It's irrelevant if they own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's a game without bugs and shortcomings, so it can't prove that people have just as low standards for NIntendo games as they have for third party games.

But...it does have shortcomings.

When I saw the blue icon signaling another quote, I was ready to tell you off for always trying to make matters complicated. I am pleasantly surprised by your response.

I can always reply without blue quoting, but that makes things even more complicated.

Well, seeing as 1-2-Switch has outsold  Minecraft: Story Mode, Skylanders Imaginators, The Binding of Isaac, Dragon Quest Heroes I & II for Nintendo Switch, Disgaea 5 Complete, Puyo Puyo Tetris and LEGO City Undercover (COMBINED!) then I would say no, Nintendo fans are behaving just like they always have.

(Yeah, I haven't gotten over 1-2-Switch.  I dont think I ever will)

First:

Google Racism and its definition.

Second step:

Delete this post.

I don't know why but I can't stop laughing at this.

You make the best topics. If you are ever perma-banned, I will leave this site. thank you.

I don't know you well enough to tell if that is a genuine compliment or sarcasm.

Oh, it's a compliment. 100% serious. Trust me, i'm 1017 years old.

Hi

Don't you mean positive discrimination? I just want good games, if I can get them on the Switch and the version isn't too different from the PC one, there's no reason not to give it a chance.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

Well games arent a race so no, however i may be more likely to support 3rd party on Switch rather then ps4 because of portability.

lol this. We're on a sales site, so use sales numbers, ain't that right Rol?

I will say the general attitude towards 3rd partys is definitely different than in early Wii U days before the great 3rd party abandonment. The portability has certainly made them inherently more enticing.
