Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Positive Nintendo Fans vs. Negative Nintendo Fans - Dr. Tre slams ReviewTechUSA on taking credit for third party support

Dr. Tre being on the Positive side
ReviewTechUSA being on the negative

And if you're on a channel which said that the Switch WOULDN'T get third party games due to the Switch design philosophy, from the time of the Eurogamer article, then you can't take credit for the Switch getting third paty support!

Dr. Tre not only rips apart the flaws of ReviewTechUSA's claims, but also posts an excerpt from an earlier video of his where he predicts this sort of reaction from the nagative Nintendo fans:

An observation: the Negative Nintendo fans youtube videos very often have similar type videos - they put some weird random/unrelated gameplay footage on the screen and talk through the video, while the positive Nintendo fans always show their face, and show footage that is relevant to what they're talking about.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

You do know that Nintendo doesn't want their footage used in anything. Unless the person is apart of their crap program. Even when it's apart of a review video. So Reviewtech is not gonna bother showing any footage or trailer from a Nintendo game. As for Reviewtech in general. He always plays footage of whatever game he currrently is playing, over whatever he's talking. That's his thing. Nowadays he went back to showing himself. So is he now a Nintendo Fanboy, by your observation?

He's no Nintendo Fanboy, but the Switch has left a mark on him. At first, he was "Oh no, Nintendo trying again to be different without bringing enough power for third party games" - Then Zelda came out, then MK8DX, the success of the Indie games on the Switch, the Switch itself doing very well, then third party titles coming slowly to the switch. No he sees the potential of te console and argues that third party titles, if they ain't gimped to much to run on the console, are more value (or added value) on the Switch because you can take them anywhere and play them on the go, which you can't do with any other version.

He still criticises Nintendo if they do things clearly wrong, like what they do on Youtube or the Splatoon headset controversy and the prices of accessories, but he is confident now into the Switch whearas he wasn't before.

For five minutes of the video I was like "I can't believe that a black guy makes better points than a white guy", but then the conclusion provided relief.

He's right that Switch isn't getting the announced third party games because of Wii U bashing in the past, but he's wrong with his claim that Switch is getting those games because of Nintendo fanboyism. Essentially, there are two opposing groups who try to take credit for something that they weren't responsible for. Don't bother following any of those guys.

I can't tell if you're joking with the first part or not...?

Switch is getting the games it is getting because of the business between Nintendo and those third party developers.

Rich is not to be praised for Switch getting third party titles. Especially since Wii U had more, and equally as questionable (in terms of quality) support than Switch. And since I know Switch is a hand held, there is no disputing that Switch is way behind 3DS in terms of third party support. So, if Rich would like us to thank him for a step backward, fine. He is still wrong to think he deserves any credit, however.

On the other hand, us diehard Nintendo fans are not to blame either. We are only a small demographic (see: Wii U sales) of the sales that are used for the success of a Nintendo console. Credit goes to Nintendo for making a product that is seeing success. One thing people love to not mention is how well Switch was selling before mention of DOOM, Wolfenstein, Rocket League, or anything other than Skyrim and NBA 2K (which, on their own would not be enough to sway many people). Naysayers and diehard fans are not to get credit for Nintendo's business decisions. That is absurd.

You guys that have seen my posts in the past know how I feel about Nintendo's current third party situation so I am not going to go there again. All I will say is that if people want to thank Rich, it should be a, "thank you for nothing" and move on.

Man, I don't care for ReviewtechUSA at all as he comes off like a concern troll when it comes to Nintendo. He's like what SuperMetalDave64 is now minus SMD64's desperate desire to be an industry leaker.  Also, the thought of someone who is largely neagtive about Nintendo trying to take credit for positive things happening to them just really rubs me the wrong way.

Wow, is it 2014 already?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I sure hope he is...

Austrians and xenophobia/racism go together like AAA third parties and shady money-grabbing schemes.

Here austrians are known for being well educated and highly racist

I really hope you only represent half of that stereotype though

I enjoy Rich's commentary some of the time, and admit that I often want someone to voice my concerns as a Nintendo fan. I've loved them for years but I am often left scratching my head at some of backward decisions they make. Thankfully, those boneheaded moves are becoming fewer and farther between.
